Thanks to AdobeWalls and Sean Shoot Here for helping to make this event run smoothly and with great effect. What "a glorious day for America" how does it get any better than spending a weekend Appleseeding on the Isaac Davis Memorial Range and Gardens? This weekend saw a fair shooter become a great shooter and a novice shooter heading there. Congratulations to Andrew for scoring 229 on his final exam and going home with the coveted Rifleman patch, HUZZAH!

This was my first, and certainly will not be my last, Appleseed event.

The Isaac Davis Memorial Range and Gardens is an impressive range. I have never seen a range with such nice personal touches as the flower garden on the side berms. As you approach the area, you can immediately sense the feeling of pride and accomplishment in etching out of the brush, a place to teach others about the meaning of liberty and how it correlates with the uniquely american virtue of rifle marksmanship. The wind complied for both days, allowing the historical flags to proudly fly.

The instructors were passionate about the subjects of the event, both the marksmanship and the history behind the events of April 19, 1775. There was no time wasted. If we were not being given instruction in rifle marksmanship, we were being taught history that I (embarrassingly)knew very little about. The instructors were both professional and patient in teaching their craft. My companion and I were ill prepared, and the instructors never skipped a beat. From loaning a rifle and a magazine, to remounting an optic and re-zeroing a front sight post, there was no obstacle that wasn't handled with enthusiasm, generosity and skill.

The Tallahassee area has a real gem at the Isaac Davis Memorial Range. I plan on spreading the word of Appleseed to anyone I know that is interested in rifle craft and liberty.

I came a cook, and left a Rifleman. HUZZAH!
