We began the first Appleseed event of 2014 in Rising Fawn with HIGH HOPES and we were not disappointed.  Although Saturday morning started with brisk temperatures, the day's forecast called for very favorable conditions to be outdoors celebrating LIBERTY!!

With the venue near capacity we quickly got underway. ~~:) Our hearts were softened and our resolved hardened by the inspired telling of the First Strike by Rusty, framing the minds of our guests around the first Red Coat of the event.

With each drill that followed, the students eagerly absorbed the finer points of marksmanship conveyed, and with each drill performed, they began to develop good habits.  Each student found multiple ways to "pay" the Instructor Cadre with excellent questions and faithful attention to detail!!  THANKS GUYS!!

While we enjoyed lunch, General Stuart (Second Strike) recounted the riveting events from the morning of April 19th with soul stirring accuracy!!  GREAT JOB SIR!!

After lunch, we moved back to the line and continued the instruction and, as we introduced new positions, all of the students continued their dedication to improvement.  On the only AQT of the day, several of the shooters shot very respectable scores and Matthew (11 yrs. old) shot a Rifleman score of 217!!
During our afternoon break, Ramblinwreck told the Third Strike from a unique perspective, that of Jeremy Lister!!

An end of the day treat was enjoyed by all.  Morpheus took the event to its emotional peak, channeling his inner Patrick Henry while giving the infamous "Give me Liberty or Give me Death" speech!!!  HUZZAH!!

Sunday began with mild temperatures but Saturday's brilliant blue skies had turned dark and full of wind and rain!!  Thankful for the ability to work under cover, each attendee graciously embraced the concept of shooting in "Flights".  The morning's instruction was a well-executed review of the previous day's lessons. Rusty, tnjay, General Stuart and the rest of the Instructors did a great job engaging our students with thought provoking conversation.  That was the "sign" I was looking for.  We were primed for a GREAT DAY!!

During the afternoon, two new Riflemen emerged from the ranks, Jim (225, 232) and Jeff (215)!!! Great job men!!  Not to be outdone, returning Riflemen Dustin (226), Eric (220, 218) and Matthew (231) shot qualifying scores as well!  HUZZAH!!  Once the final Red Coat of the event had been dispatched, THREE LOVERS OF LIBERTY (Dustin, Eric and Matthew) stepped forward to join the Instructor In Training program!!  You'll make excellent Instructors!!

To a person, each of you are a pleasure to be around.  Your desire to learn and your ability to Improvise, Adapt and Overcome is to be commended!!  You've heard it said, "Practice makes perfect."  I disagree.  "PERFECT practice makes perfect."  I'm confident that each of you, despite where you are in your journey, has what it takes to shoot a Rifleman score.  But, more importantly, I KNOW each of you have what it takes to champion LIBERTY'S cause.  Thank you for joining us on the line!

I trust that each person in attendance, shooters and Instructors alike, will fondly look back on this event and remember it as a benchmark in their lives.

May Liberty Increase,

Spartan

Ramblin' Wreck

It was another great event even with the rain. Highlight of the event was having my son and grandson shoot on Saturday. HUZZAH guys.

High praise for SB SureshotSpartan and the rest of the very professional crew of instructors.

Also, need to point out that Rifleman Capt. Jim shot the 232 with a bolt gun. WOW!

Yes, we had lots of liquid sunshine on day 2!  All that rain couldn't dampen the spirits of a great group of shooters.

I didn't get lots of pics this time... but I captured a few important moments.   :)

Pop Revere

As always it was a GREAT weekend. What could be better than a safe and happy day on the range with like minded fellow Americans. It was really an honor to have seen fathers and sons, brothers, husband and wife, shooting buddies, an Army Captian, a Marine Reservists all at one shoot. Now that's what Project Appleseed is about. Family and fellow Americans learning Rifle Marksmanship, our history, and loving Liberty. See you all again soon.
I wanna give a special "Thank You" to Rusty and Spartan for all of the support and encouragement this weekend.

In Liberty,

The constant threats against our Country and our Liberties make me worry about my Grandchildren's future. This has made me realize that I don't have time to wait on my work schedule to slow down or my knees to get any better. So I'm back, ready and willing again, to do what I can because "I will NOT allow Liberty to die on my watch".
