If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary. (James Madison)

"Young man, what we meant in going for those Redcoats was this: we always had governed ourselves and we always meant to. They didn't mean we should."
(Captain Levi Preston, of the Danvers militia, at age 91, remembering the day)

That it is an indispensable duty which we owe to God, our country, ourselves and posterity, by all lawful ways and means in our power to maintain, defend and preserve those civil and religious rights and liberties, for which many of our fathers fought, bled and died, and to hand them down entire to future generations.  Suffolk Resolves, September 9, 1774, attributed to Dr. Joseph Warren

If you want to compare different rounds and how they perform...  Your 168 gr OTM are going to be somewhat different than XM80, etc  ball ammo.  http://www.hornady.com/ballistics-resource/ballistics-calculator
"Today, we need a nation of Riflemen, citizens who are not only prepared to take arms, but citizens who regard the preservation of freedom as the basic purpose of their daily life and who are
willing to consciously work and sacrifice for that freedom."

Thanks -- for this match it'll be 168 gr, but I do shot other stuff especially when NATO surplus can be found.

I think Fred had an article with standard come ups out to 1000 yds
"What! what! men, dodging this way for single bullets! What will you do when they open fire along the whole line? I am ashamed of you. They couldn't hit an elephant at this dist-"
Last words of Union Gen. John Sedgwick, before he was killed by a Confederate sniper.

Standard comeups would be for standard ammo... and standard barrels.

For a starting point from a 100 yard zero to 1000 yards, you might try 3,3,3,4,5,5,6,8,8 or 3,3,4,4,5,5,6,8,8. These should get you on target and will require some additional correction.

Also a wind formula that may work for you would be as follows:
Full Value- 10 mph wind- Range- [(1 MOA correction per unit of 100 yards) - 1 MOA] = correction into the wind.

example: Full Value- 10 mph wind- 600 yards- [(1 MOA per unit of 100 yards or 6 MOA) -1 MOA] = 5 MOA wind correction

As always your mileage may vary.
