Ah, the true spirit of a Rifleman:adapt, persist and overcome. :~
Not to mention the shattering of belief systems of what is possible.
And this thread is why my own Savage Tactical in 300 Win still sits in its original cheesy factory black synthetic stock.

It is only impressive to those who promote the idea that accuracy is something that must be purchased.

I will not be surprised at all if next they drag out an action chambered for 45-70-500 and make 1000 yd hits, claiming they made history with a "brush cartridge."

Hey, don't rain on my coat rack rifle.  Next thing you're going to tell me is that .303 Enfields can be accurate out beyond 200 yards.  ;)   ;D

"At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide."  Abraham Lincoln

I ain't raining on you, I am just amazed at how easily they seem to be impressed. Mechanically, the 2x4 stock that they built had many advantages over the average CTD tactikewl stock with budget bipod.

It's incredible we have been able to hit anything beyond ten feet in the last 200 years of blued steel and wood stocks.
