Just checked my dealer account at Davidson's, and the part number for the Marlin 795 LTR is gone from their system.  Apparently it has been discontinued by Marlin?  Not sure it really matters as the new Ruger 10/22 Design Contest version makes for a fine LTR, but thought folks might want to know.
"The great body of our citizens shoot less as times goes on. We should encourage rifle practice among schoolboys, and indeed among all classes, as well as in the military services by every means in our power. Thus, and not otherwise, may we be able to assist in preserving peace in the world... The first step in the direction of preparation to avert war if possible, and to be fit for war if it should come is to teach men to shoot." -Theodore Roosevelt

Sure glad I got mine, then. Much less expensive, and I'm just not a fan of rotary magazines. Hard to yank out if you have to. I love my Marlin!

I have it on good authority that it has NOT been discontinued, just will not be going through Davidsons.  Other details forthcoming...just not right now.

Here's the info I have from Brown who helped put all that together:

Davidsons decided they had enough and that is fine by Marlin. Their plan is to put the rifle into full production, available to anyone from any source (not Davidsons Exclusive) starting Jan 1 , 2015. They also intend to put it into their 2015 price catalog as a regular running item.

Unsure if they will make them in "batches" like they did the first 500 units. They may do a running production. wait to see on that.

If this happens then customers should be able to order them from any Marlin dealer OR if a distributor like Sport South stock them we may even see them in Walmart Cabinets.

Jan 1 2015 is when people should be able to get them again.

Hence the question mark in the post title.  I wasn't assuming anything, I simply saw that the part number was gone from Davidson's, and found another reference where someone at SHOT was told by Marlin that it had been discontinued.  Certainly not everything you read on the internet is true, I'm just passing along what I know to be fact (the fact that Davidson's no longer has this item at this time), and wondering if you guys had any more information.

Why you felt the need to suggest I'm spreading rumors or Ass-u-ming anything, I don't know.  Might want to give more thought next time to how things read on a public forum before you post such things.

I don't think that was meant by the post. I didn't read it that way at least. Lord know I always assume things, just ask my wife - and the internet sure can be confusing - especially forums. Hard to type what you really mean.

Anyhow I sincerely hope no offense was taken.

That's good to know because when I talked to the Marlin rep at the NRA Convention about why they didn't have the LTR on display he said it was discontinued.. I assumed he knew what he was talking about.
