Saturday June 22nd at WEGC Glen Helen.
It is a beautiful day with the sun shining early and the trees providing plenty of shade over the picnic tables. I am here early sweeping off the leaves from the covered shooting pad. We had thirteen on the line for the first Red Coat with only one being bayoneted, and the majority with a 100 yard effective range. We had ONE, McCall,  clear the Red Coat, so cool. McCall was a repeat Appleseed participant with a Rifleman patch and great skills. He came to volunteer as an Instructor. Attached is the picture of McCall and his new orange hat. Linda started with a nice group using a loaner rifle, but after several adjustments we couldn't find her shots at all by the end of the day. The owner of the loaner stayed after the shoot to figure it out. Just a tip for others the scope was slide too far and it was hitting the attachment rail so the scope was pointing way too high. I had asked the owner if the mounts were attached right from past experience that was my issue before. At lunch time the three strikes were told to attentive ears. A big thank you to Ken (Elfstone) for a great job with the third strike. After lunch we wrapped up the instruction at the mat and an AQT with some nice scores but no new riflemen but many excited and happy participants exhausted from the workout. I really like the group of five with their orange tee shirts made up just for the weekend event

It is Sunday and most of the Saturday people came back for a review and the AQT grind. The morning started with sighting in the rifles we had equipment issues with the day before and honing in the skills learned the day before. We squeezed in one AQT and broke for lunch. We all gathered around the picnic table and Shoot boss Rick told stories of the men and women that most inspired him. After lunch we attacked the AQTs in earnest with a shot break to shoot a competition with the star targets. Ridge came close to Riflemen but some unwanted help from a neighbor messed up his score. By the end of the day Ridge and him buddy Rick both shot a 214. A special hooray to Becky and Katrina, the two with their Luther Blanchard patch, for working hard and persisting. Congrats  to Gordon, tall ships, for volunteering and accepting the coveted Orange hat. Welcome the team and the battle to spread our heritage to all who will listen.
