Tornado

Day one completed at Waterman and it's officially a Winterseed! Temps down to freezing with snow on the ground, some flurries and a good bit of wind made it feel c'c'c'cold. But the shooters persisted.  Congratulations to Varun "The Almight Ram" on earning the coveted Winterseed Rifleman patch.

Looking forward to day 2.

Thanks Tornado! And thanks to all of the instructors for coming out in the cold, despite the low # of students. I thought danville was cold, but this was on another level!

Looking forward to requalifying with a bolt action/iron-sight rifle at a future(warmer) appleseed.  :---

Day 2:

Temperatures even colder than the 1st day but less wind and some sun.  :)  Only 2 shooters returned to brave the cold. Congratulations to Dave on shooting Rifleman!

We were also able to shoot at 100 yards in the afternoon after the KD instruction. I think the shooters really appreciated seeing that what they have learned at 25m works at a longer distance.

It was a cold but very rewarding Winterseed.

Thank you to all the instructors: 2 Clicks Low, BrownBessEd, Amber Waves (working on an injured foot), and Nightingale. You all did a fine job with instruction and history and made it a lot of fun.

Kevin, keep practicing. I know you'll shoot Rifleman soon. Your improvement over the 2 days was truly amazing.  O0

 After this weekend... Any and all vets who had to brave freezing temps  serving our country are... dare I say it, COOL.

Tornado, 2Clicks low and Brown Bess Ed are awesome for persisting, but the shooters, Varun, Dave, his son Kevin and nephew, Phil, showed their true determination and will.  Varun and Dave know what they are about.  Riflemen persist and they did.

To Kevin and Phil, I say, "young men you are hopefully coming back in warmer weather and getting the Rifleman patch, because you have the skills.  The Cold was the only thing holding you back."    O0

Cold? Cold?  #) What cold? This is Waterman in March. If the temperature is positive you have no complaints. Wind...the only Tornado I saw was Shoot Boss. Sunday morning I was looking for some SPF 4 so I could work on my tan at lunch.

Kevin & Phil, you are the reason I do this.

Varun & Dave congrats on RIFLEMAN you both did a great job. (Dave with a bolt no less).

Thanks Amber Waves for the history and Admin, Nightingale for popping out for quick relief. BBE glad you stopped by. Always glad to have a great instructor appear out of thin air. Tornado you can be my SB anytime. Good shoot.

Special thanks as always to our LBOTG George63, our resident expert behind the scenes always making it a "plug & play" AS

Dave-congratulations on making rifleman!!  Hope you take an orange hat and join us!!

Well done, Dave.  Looks like you nailed your NPOA shift in stage 2, and shot a fine stage 4.  It's tough to take the time to get it right when your body wants to start shivering.  You seem to know well what you are about.
