I've got us a booth at the Jan. 7-8 RK gun show in Lexington.  Need volunteers to help man the booth, especially a red or green hat.

Other locations have opportunities too-
Somerset, Ashland, Louisville, Morehead, Hopkinsville, Hindman, Bowling Green, and London:

Tip:
I called 563-927-8176 and talked to Dan.  Told him I was with RWVA, a 501(c)3 and that we would only be handing out literature and not selling anything.

Lexington 1/7 Gun Show AAR:
I set up on TWO 8' tables (hey, nobody was using the other one) and used the tan RWVA logo fleece blanket on a pipe frame set on top of one of the tables.  It could be seen quite a distance.  Laid my shooting mat on top of the table and laid my US Rifle on top of that.  I think it looked pretty good for being improvised.

I don't have a count as to how many people I talked to Saturday, but I got there at 9:00 and the next thing I knew it was almost 1:00.  FMJ joined me around noon and we stayed until a little past 4:00.

Of all the people I talked to, only two had any idea what happened on April 19, 1775.  Three older gentlemen came over to look at my US Rifle and stated that they could completely strip it and reassemble it blindfolded, and had done so many times.  They served in the 1950's.  Had several state they attended shoots and scored Rifleman.  I encouraged them to attend another seed and consider instructing.  Treehawk and his Dad stopped by to say HI, and a Hillside Plinkers member also stopped by.

I handed out a bunch of trifolds and redcoats and got 18 email addresses.  Anyone who gave me their email address I gave them a chamber flag for their effort.  I had maybe a couple dozen people who were extremely interested and engaged, hung around and asked questions.  What drew the most attention was when I told the abbreviated story of Sam Whittemore.  As I told the story, people would start accumulating.  They loved it.

The exhibitor next to me was a survival supply vendor and I noticed how the crowds would gather when he did his fire-making demo.  Next time I am going to do some demos such as sling use, NPOA, steady hold factors etc.  Also next time I am going to take more water.  Got a little scratchy and hoarse by the end of the day.  I will definitely be doing more of these.
