What a GREAT EVENT!

27 rifles on the line Sat AM and 21 on Sunday! Weather - overcast, breezy and sweet! It doesn't git much better than this.  O0

From 12 years of age to fully growed. From girls and boys to men and women. From bolt action 22 rim fire to .308 M1 Garands. This event was for me, a reminder of why I Appleseed. From Moses and his sweet children, Mateo and Sophie to Gene and his lovely wife Melinda - Andy and Alison to Wayne and Rene', the list goes on and on - one couldn't find a better bunch of Americans with which to surround oneself for a weekend. Not being kind or "happy talking" here - I mean it - what a great bunch.

This event was a shoot bosses dream from the venue and the weather to the staffing and the shooters! While we only revealed a single Rifleman (congrats Ken!), we saw lots of improvement across the board. We say that improvement in your marksmanship is the only pay an Appleseed instructor receives, so all of us definitely got paid at this event!

I just wish I had a couple more loaners, as we could have used them. Susan didn't have a rifle and I had already loaned my two out, but she stuck around to watch for a while and vowed to return - hope to see u soon Susan.

It was a great mix of students - some with extensive experience like Gene who is always ready to help out, and others like Dena, who though she had been around rifles most of her life, had never before been required to operate every aspect of same in a hurry. She persisted though and wrung some good groups out of her little borrowed Ruger 1022.

I sure hope to see all ya'll agin soon.

Pics to follow ASAP.

Many thanks to all who attended.

Well, PHenry pretty much said it all, but it was breezy and cool on Sunday, but it sure kept the 'no/seeums away....

To all the instructors, THANKS!!!  I truly did not think I had qualified as a rifleman.  I was astounded when Trey announced I achieved a prestigous milestone I thought would take me a while to do.

The primary difference between Riflemen and cooks is persistence!  :~ :~ :~
