What a great weekend for an Appleseed!  The days were hot at 94, but not abusive.  The shooters were committed to improving their marksmanship skills and bravely persisted through the heat.   The shooters were Joe, this was Joe's second Appleseed, and mother/son Criss and Gabe.  All the shooters built upon their skills, and although they didn't shoot rifleman scores, they all shot well.  Joe shot a personal high score at this event with a 186!  Gabe is knocking on the Rifleman's door with his high score of 206.  Criss brought a new-to-her rifle.  She shot well and demonstrated excellent form.  Criss' rifle showered Joe with ejected brass over the 2 days, and Joe was the epitome of someone being in the "Rifleman's Bubble".

Everyone brought a lot to the event with their cheerful personalities and their teachable attitudes.  Criss' elbows were highly irritated and red by the end of both days.  All of the shooters continued to return to the firing line throughout the weekend until they were worn out on Sunday afternoon.  We were telling them that a Rifleman always persists, and they were true to the spirit!

We spent lunch on Saturday honoring the memory of our forefather's pursuit of Liberty through the telling of the Three Strikes.  Shooter and I split the telling of the Three Strikes.  We had quite a conversation with the shooters about joining us bailing out the sinking ship.

This was a great group of shooters.  Shooter and I enjoyed the opportunity to get to instruct, and to get to know a little about, Criss, Gabe and Joe.  We truly hope to get to see all of them again on the Appleseed trail!

We can't thank the Albuquerque Shooting Range Park enough for offering one of their ranges to Project Appleseed.  Thank you!
