AAR Canton, MS Sept 4-6 2010

Another wonderful shoot in Canton, MS.  The weather was perfect and by the end of Monday, four Riflemen had emerged, with one of them taking an Orange hat. 

We also had one excellent young lady, Cameron, who is 8, shoot all weekend.  She earned her young patriot patch.  I suspect she will go far in the shooting world.

I was only able to make it out to help out on Monday, but what a great day it was!  The weather was beautiful, the people were friendly, and everyone had a great time.  It was evident that spmcpeek had instructed very proficiently all weekend, with the capable assistance of Raven227, Johnny, Healinghand, and another new IIT from April who answered the call and assisted on Saturday.

I believe there were 8 shooters on Monday, 3 of them lady Appleseeders! Two of the shooters were repeats at Turcotte from this spring, two were a new-to-Appleseed mother-daughter pair, and the other four traveled from out of state to spend the weekend at this Appleseed.  As far as I could tell, everyone had a great time, learned a lot, and absorbed both the rifle instruction and the history/7th step call.  Thanks again to all the participants for coming out and the Instructors/IITs who made this weekend happen!

Hi JA, Yes, he was there on Monday when I showed up.  He actually asked me about that patch, he said you were supposed to be saving a purple one for him.  I told him I am sure you have it tucked away safely for when he gets his 210.  I told him he could contact you via this board, and I am sure you'll be the first one he notifies when he makes Rifleman.

How close is  Griffen to the 210 score ? How about Mom + Dad if anyone recalls?
Both G3 and his Mom have the heart of a Rifleman  Bet his Dad does too.

I do have the MadameY purple patch for him.  Jackie was gun culture and so is Griffen.  Whoever presents the patch will need the info on Jackie . She is with the founders and watching, Savage Shootr has lots of letters from those who knew her.

Don or Wes --might be fun to contact this nice family and tell them California has mentioned them on the Forum and that they can see what was written by getting access

Hey JohnnyAppleseed.  I've been following the thread.  Hope to see you again in the near future.  However, I don't recall seeing G3's father on this go around.  Mom was there and she shot on Monday. They were there on Saturday, missed Sunday, and were ther on Monday.  It was a great AS, the weekend was beautiful.  Looking forward for the October AS.

Everything here is good , we did 3 shoots in 4 weeks a have been resting a little since then .
Sorry I was unclear on that  post ------ G3 + family can find it on this thread .
Savage Shootr will mail the letters to whoever present s the purple patch to Griffen.

Hi Don---- Regarding the nice ,bright red instructor sheatshirts,aka(chick/dude/magnets) just order them with your next shoot box . They will need sizes and who they are for. They are available for Red Hats and let them know if you want hoodie type or standard.
Be sure to post pics of all the instructors wearing them
