Last fall, at Sam Whittamore memorial range, an instructor's wife came out to shoot.
She had the misfortune to be on the line next to a SOCOM M1A. She was late starting her first redcoat, after the short barreled 30 cal next to her opened up she never did fire a shot.
She did stay long enough to hear some history.
She works as the activities director for a retirement home.
Some weeks back she contacted me to see if I would come tell the story of April 19 to the residents. I was glad to agree.
Yesterday she called  again to firm up a time.
This morning we had a meeting, her plan is to put on months of weekly programs covering Revolutionary war history leading up to the Fourth of July. Most of it will be video tape, the John Adams' movie, and a multi episode presentation on the American struggle for independence.
When questioned about how much time I get to speak she offered 45 minutes
I told her I needed two hours.
I get to talk for two hours before the TV comes on!

"The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles."  one who has not qualified himself with the M-16 may not be considered to be a responsible citizen."

"Once a government is committed to the principle of silencing the voice of opposition, it has only one way to go, and that is down the path of increasingly repressive measures, until it becomes a source of terror to all its citizens and creates a country where everyone lives in
