It's spelled Burlington, but pronounced BRRlington.  It was cold, negative 10 degrees on Sunday morning.  Every other time I looked up, it was snowing.

I love you guys!  I think I'd already met everybody at this event except one, and she was from Canada, so who cares.   ;)   We need to add a new Instruction Element to the manual - it's called centimeters to inches to minutes to clicks.  Stoner - if you need to turn on a light - it's too early.  Charlie Hotel - a calzone as big as your head is designed to be eaten by a family, not one guy.  FastFrank - the snoring you think you heard must have been a bad dream - I woke up several times and didn't hear anything.  VietVet - it was good to have you up there with us, and it's nice to sit down all day isn't it?  "GET THOSE LEGS UP!"  Boltgun71 - I'm sure there's a Kentucky Fried around there somewhere.  Another D.O.M. - as SC, aren't you supposed to stick around so the SI's can use your internet card to watch netflix at night...  I mean, to post AAR's?

We had a pretty successful IBC.  I was glad to have the help of Boltgun71, Sgtrock and VietVet.  A total of four Red Hats (two SIs) for eleven students.  Not bad.  We managed to finish at a reasonable hour both days - not always the case at these things.  I'm always glad to see everybody, but especially as a training tool I am more and more convinced of the usefulness of these events.  Just going over Steady Hold Factors so many times is enough reason to come out.  I will be making several recommends for promotion over the next day or two (as usual, I gotta find my sheet  :-\ - kDan is nothing if not consistent), but I am sure everybody learned a lot, including myself.  New York is in good hands.

I can't think of much else to say; these events are pretty concentrated and heavy on the instruction, which doesn't lend itself to a very interesting public outlay of details.  "We repeated the safety rules.  Then we chorused the six steps.  Then each IIT went through the line commands.  That was all for Day One."  We didn't even have a dog to distract us from the work at hand.  Went through a LOT of stuff.  We followed the POI to the letter, but still managed to fill in a few spots with our own pertikler styles.

Reminder - there's an RBC at B flats in May.  Anybody can go!  I shot my first Rifleman score at RBC (and my second, third, fourth...).  It's where Ornell named me kDan (whew - could have been much worse!  poor Dinky).  We shoot distance at RBC's.  It's where we shoot all day, grill opossums on a campfire at night (I assume Wildman just shows up, right?) and then sleep in a tent with our rifles for NINE DAYS!  What could be better than that?  Stoner can get up as early as he wants, and maybe it won't snow but no guarantees.

Good IIT's I know went, and they were in good hands. Looking forward to working with them, know they are signing up at all the upcoming events. WHAT, the puppy didn't go? KDan, that's your signature... People say "You know the guy with the big lovable dog, what's his name?" :cool2: **) ^:)^
A lot of events coming up on the calendar, we can use the help. Seems the NYC area is building a nice network of instructors. Sweet. ..:..

At the last minute my plans for this weekend changed and I was able to make it.
I'll say here what I said there. Very informative. I'd recommend an IBC to anyone of any Rank.
Orange Hat, Red Hat, there's always something to pick up at an IBC.
The Instructors were outstanding. Well done guys.
The IIT's were very eager to learn, and that they did.
This was a terrific IBC.

That was a medium calzone?!?!

Netflix? Not us! We all were catching up on our studying before lights out.

Hearing something about it being late then being blinded with the lights, and hearing responses something about it being too early.

Big thanks to kDan, Sgt.Rock, Boltgun71 and VietVet for giving up their time this past weekend.
I learned more than I thought possible in two days and I know I am a much better IIT for it.

This was a well spent weekend covering everything or nearly everything that happens during an appleseed, from the 3 strikes to known distance.

Chorusing the safety rules, six steps and line commands was interesting.  I particularly liked going around the room and having each person say the next rule/step/command, that kept you on your toes.

The best part of the weekend for me was Boltgun's IMC, known distance & ballistics lecture, very informative and interesting.  If you get the chance to hear it first hand, I highly recommend that you take that opportunity.

WAKE UP-- 0530hrs first day, got jump on,,, wake up 0600hrs, let them sleep in, still got grief, but coffee was on when they got up,,, and that seemed to make them happy,,, but all in all,,,,     A Great IBC,,, alot of ground was covered, but still along way to go to save this country,,, tools were given, now they need to be applied in the field, I am sure that will be done in high Appleseed style,,, Alot of questions were answered,,, and alot of enthusiasm was brought to class, they were drilled and re-drilled on everything Appleseed,,, The Shoot Bosses that have these people on their lines next will be real proud of them, and what they have learned and will apply to the shoots they work, (((Remember,,, If I don't see the soles of your boots you are not instructing,,,)))) (That quote was taken from a Great Instructor that I had the Privilege to work with,,, Junior Birdman, I hope you don't mind me using it, but I like it),,, I was most glad to see the Great State of New York represented from all points of the compass, And we had the Honor of having a young Lady from Canada as well, Long Island will be the place to be, to see these IBC grads in action, 40% of the students, (Friends) came up to the North Country to learn what it takes to teach Appleseed,,, In that group is a Fine Young Man at the age of 13 (thirteen) that knows very well what he is about, and is ready to greet the world to his new found knowledge, FastFrank777 is his name, and I think we will be seeing alot him in the future on the trail,,, I was most humble and glad to be there to lend assistance to kDan and Boltgun71, A Very Fine Crew Indeed,,,, To VietVet,,Thanks for coming up here to help out and to take all the pictures,,,, Mark (Another D.O.M.) stopped by and stayed the night Friday to meet some of the instructors that he has not met with yet, a Great example of how New York keeps it all together,,, By staying in touch, and putting faces with the names,,, Now they have a Go To Person for all questions that may arise,,,

I will be at the May B Flats RBC.  Think I'm shoot boss.  Come help us, Mike!  It's true there's one in Feb at Ramseur ("2-0-8!").  I've been to that event twice.  I have my own campsite there.  The dog made some friends last year too, including yourself.  He ate a whole roast, ate better than all of us.  A trip to Ramseur is the only way I know of to lay hands on the full size KD targets.  All mine are at Fort Drum now.  Somebody from New York should go down - I'll tell you where they are.   ..:..

Another Great weekend spent on the AppleSeed Trail.
A little bit on the cool side, but it can always be worse.
I would like to say Thankyou to KDan, sgtrock, Boltgun71, for a great weekend
of sharing their knowledge and giving up their time.

I walk out of there with more knowledge then I would have ever picked up just working the line.
Thanks guys for a great weekend. I will see you all on the trail.

It was great to get together with friends, some old and some new.  I'm glad everyone learned a lot, 'cause we'll be putting this knowledge to the test on April 16 & 17!  Sorry I couldn't stick around longer, but the job requires that I cover many events over great distances (thank The Maker there wasn't a shoot scheduled in NY this weekend as well!).

Sorry Dan - the MyFi card was tucked away safely in the laptop bag - in my basement, 1.75 hrs. from B-Flats.  Just so I know and I can plan accordingly, will it be required at the RBC in May?

This is good stuff - and thanks to everyone, Instructors and students alike, for giving up your weekend to further the mission of Appleseed.  As I've said elsewhere, there is an urgency to what we're all doing here!

A great weekend spent with fellow Appleseeders, both instructors and attendees alike.  NY has a great and growing instructor corps developing, I'm proud to be counted amongst them.  I'm glad everyone attended and left with more knowledge then they arrived with.  Mission accomplished.

   Thanks to all the Red Hats for blazing the path and dropping the seeds for us to follow. A special thanks to BFFGC for hosting this event, I am looking forward to my next visit. This was very educational for me and I highly recommend attending an IBC to everyone. I met a lot of great people and we all shared some good times.

   I had a long exhausting day on Friday which started at 06:00, no sleep caught a flat at 03:00 on Saturday 2 houses away from Dakota before the ride up and was saved by the never ending flow of Java on Saturday. I was in need of sleep on Saturday so I didn't go out to eat with everyone, but I new CharlieHotel wasn't going to share his calzone anyway

   I didn't hear anyone snoring either Dan but I did hear a bunch of squeaking. I woke up to the smell of fresh coffee on Sunday morning thanks to Sgt Rock and I was able to stay focused for the Ballistics 101 instruction from boltgun71 and enjoyed his artwork along the way.....
