I just got home after 1700 miles on the road with Dano. We got to see most of this great state of California. And meeting some of its greatest resources of the Golden state, the people that live in it. Even if they do live in Humboldt County ;)

Well another wonderful and some times sunny Appleseed at the Red Wood Gun Club in Eureka CA.
With 10 new shooters on the line all ready and willing to learn. I was very impressed with every ones dedication and ability to pick up what was being taught. With all the shooters showing great improvement over the weekend. With one riflemen on Saturday and a riflewomen on Sunday. With every one else knocking on the door.

There was a great time had by all. I was very happy to meet you all, and hope to be up that way soon for another Appleseed.

Pics to come soon

I learned about Appleseed from some other online forums, and everyone said it's a really good way to learn the basics of rifle marksmanship.  I decided to go and see what it's all about.  I brought my little lady, Apex, since she has an interest in marksmanship also.

What nobody told me, was that it was not only the greatest leap forward in my marksmanship technique since I started shooting 10 or so years ago, but it was also the most fun weekend in recent memory.  The weather wasn't friendly the first day, and I woke up very sore the next day, but that didn't keep me and Apex from having even more fun on day 2.

Many thanks to HollywoodMarine and Dano, for traveling all the way up here to bring us this awesome weekend.

My coworkers are probably tired of hearing about it by now, but I'm very proud of my Rifleman patch. ^:)^  I'll be back with at least 1 new shooter next time, probably 2 or more.  Apex has been talking with her coworkers about her Rifleman patch and has generated some interest with her people, too.  We were even able to generate some buzz at the company Christmas party last night.  I feel fortunate to live in a place where most people aren't afraid of firearms, even if they don't make a point to know how to use them (yet!).

Wow, I had such an exciting weekend!  ;D
Thank you HollywoodMarine & Dano! O0I was showing off my patches at work today and already have a friend in mind that I plan to bring the next time there's a shoot in this neck of the woods. After looking over my targets from the start of Saturday to the end of Sunday I was amazed at how much I improved in such a short amount of time by applying the techniques you taught us during those two days. Now I need a shooting jacket on which I can proudly wear my patch!

Here is what I have in the way of pictures. Thanks to everyone for coming out to the shoot. I really enjoyed this shoot, the people were great, the weather was nice with only a little, "Aggressive Humbolt Mist"! Not bad for Eureka in December. Of coarse I don't think this would be a complete after action report without the mention of the Samoa Cookhouse. When you travel with Hollywood you will learn the meaning of an Appleseeder travels on their stomach. To all the other instructors out there if you get a chance make sure to Appleseed at the Redwood Gun Club it is awesome. Congratulations to our two new Riflemen/Women!
