The quotes of the weekend (which I think I will make a regular column) are:

For the Red Coat target: "I would have made the head shot with the 30mm rule."  I said, "There would not have been a head with a 30mm rule!"

For Danielle's very nice and simple to use 6' telescope: "It is time to get out the Holy Hand Grenade!"  It was a high-power eyepiece that looked like a WWII F1 Frag grenade.  Also, I heard Danielle shot a 204 and is likely to be FBG's first Riflewoman at the next shoot.  Transitions are the only thing holding her back and she actually shoots better sitting than prone!

Congrats to Mark, Mark, and Jerry for taking up the OH.  They were a big help this weekend.  Also to Mike, DZ and Steven for their Rifleman's scores.

FBG always has new faces and motivated learners.  Pics to follow from myself and zonkertx.

I would like to thank Tonya, Rodger and Angela (and I believe there were others) who set up the range before we arrive.

Hopefully pictures will be attached to this post.

The bottom picture shows Rodger (an outstanding FBG volunteer and promoter) handing out one of the Appleseed challenge coins he personally finances and gives out to each new Rifleman.

Two Wolves

Hey!!!!  "Howbout them new Riflemen and Orange Hats." The weather was perfect and the shooters and instructors were great!!!  Special thanks to Rainmanjs,Dragit,Zonkertx, and Brihanna. Your always welcome (in my neighborhood).
We consistently have People drive great distances to attend our Appleseed events and to them a heart felt THANK YOU goes out. Appleseed brings out the best in men, women and children. Please note that DZ has attended three of our events and each time brought one of his three? children and helped them to learn these skills. What a great guy. We had a great group of young shooters and they will become riflemen. Many thanks to all--The good wolf has been feed and howls.
A moral compass provides a basis for making decisions; an action is good or bad, right or wrong when viewed in the light of the individual's moral bearing. If no moral compass exists for the individual, then decisions and actions are made on the basis of purely subjective thoughts. This leads to "If it makes me happy, or makes me feel good, or if it's something I simply want to do, then it is right and good."

Sounds like a great shoot. Dang glad to hear you got all them extra Orange Hats. Looking at the pics it looks like one of the Marks is Mark Martinez (if I remember the name correctly from the last FBG shoot) I'm glad to see his smiling face in the pics. While I don't know the other new OH guys if they are anything like MM then we have some fine new additions to the Texas crew.

I am hoping to make out to Fredericksburg next year.  Great to see all those orange hats and smiling faces.   :)

Rainman- the green hat looks good on you! Congratulations again!

Dragit- Don't forget to send me the names of our new orange hats. I need to add them to our instructor database, so they can be "in the loop"!!!  O0

This was my wife's and my first Appleseed. It was all we had hoped for and more. The instructors were great and were not shy about making everyone reach out to find the best of the skills inside themselves. Each shooter was on the same page and that made it all the more enjoyable. Practice, practice, practice and we will see you again in the spring. Thanks.

First let me say thanks to Jesse, Tommy, and Everett for a great weekend experience. That you take so much time from your personal life for the cause is amazing.

I didn't go to the event thinking of being an orange hat, but it became a great learning experience for me.

My observation was that most shooters walked away from the event pleased with their progress. I think we were all smiling when at the end of the day on Sunday, a lady shooter (that we had all been watching)  walked up to us with an almost perfect red coat target. She'll be back.

Speaking with the sponsors who helped bring Appleseed to Fredericksburg, they are pleased with what Appleseed represents and the positive response within the community.  It's apparent to them that with six events scheduled for 2011, all will be sell outs.

Found:

One red folding canvas camp chair.  It was left at the far left of the firing line.  To claim and coordinate return call me on 210-213-3313.

This was my first Appleseed.  I had a great time.  I will be back with my son in the spring for the full two days and camp overnight.  If I can convince a few others I will.  I have in mind a young man who will be entering the Marine Corps.  The marksmanship and patriotic history will do him well.

I have some feedback for whomever wishes to receive it.

I tried converting the HTML over to SMF tags to make the thumbnail table display in this post, but it wouldn't render correctly.  I'll stick with real HTML.  Click the links. ;D

Great shoot as usual! :---

Congrats all on another successful F'burg shoot. I will have to make it out there. My nephew in law is in Kerrville, and left our place after Thanksgiving loaded down with flyers for F'burg. He says he'll be at the next one.

"If you will not fight for the right when you can easily win without bloodshed; if you will not fight when your victory will be sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a small chance of survival. There may even be a worse case: you may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves."

Little late to the party, but thanks to all the instructors and everyone involved for a great shoot.

See you all next year at the AQT grinds.
