I was perusing the Indiana AARs and I found this quote ffrom the recent Atlanta shoot

"I thought I knew a little about marksmanship, but boy was I wrong. Until attending an Appleseed, I had no idea how little I knew about the basics. My marksmanship confidence and ability was improved 100% in one weekend.  This has to be the best program that I have ever participated in. I will definitely be back to improve my basic skills and learn new ones as well.

When I walked into work on Monday, everyone was asking me why I was smiling from ear to ear. All day long, I was showing my coworkers my targets and challenging them to join the ranks of dedicated Americans. It got me back in touch with the importance of being a dedicated citizen. This a a great program that needs to be experienced by everyone who considers themselves an American. I am already planning on bringing my daughters to a spring Appleseed
."

I reckon that ol jake and AB and fuzzybreeches (that is short hand for ATM) know what they are doing!  Reading something like that really put some fire in the furnace and I find myself trying extra hard to get my lesson plans ahead of the game and get caught up on my grading because I want to produce the same experience for somebody at Bedford next weekend.  I know we can.

Can you smell that?  I love the smell of victory in the morning.  It smells like....like....BACON!

Hoosiers lead the way

I'm signed up for the Bedford AS, might be bringing my nephew again, and have a couple from Indy that are interested.  Got my new gun yesterday. Remington 597, gotta get the scope on it and a few hundred rounds down the pipe before the shoot.
To all Riflemen on the planet; we are here; we are waiting.

Try out several different brands of ammo to see what your 795 really likes.  The two I own, and the others I've shot, really like CCI MiniMag, so that's a good start point.  Don't forget to get a sling to go with that thing.  Good luck.
Your version of "ineffective" does not necessarily reflect the truth....
Having been "ineffectively" taught to the Rifleman Standard and having been "ineffectively" taught to teach others to the Rifleman Standard, I believe I prefer the "ineffective" over the other choice.

+1 on CCI Minimags, we have had several discussions on ammo lately pertaining to performance during weather extremes.

I have removed my email from my profile to stop the mod reports. If you need a Libertyseed scheduled you will now have to contact me on the Libertyseed forum.

YHJ my 795's will function well with Federal bulk too, but I have inconsistant results with it.  A buddy of mine had some Blazers in bulk and I'll be trying those soon because they are a couple bucks cheaper than the MiniMags....I just have to hit the right store to get them.

POC: when you mount your scope, don't forget to use some nail polish or superglue to set the ring-mounts on the dove-tail.....or you'll have movement after a couple hundred rounds.  A drop in the groove, on each side, where the mount sets should hold it; as well as a drop on the scope barrel under each ring.  If you don't use a fixative, you'll find your groups migrating as the scope slips....which can be frustrating as hell.

fuzzybreeches?  :cool2:

I like it.  ^-^

And yes... I can smell it, too.  O0

The numbers may drop off in the cold weather, but those who do come out are hungry to learn and improve.

Say no to drugs. $$-0 Say yes to bacon. O0

POC - I am a proponent of gel super glues.  Little dab will do ya and it won't try to run down over the rail and get all over stuff.

ATM - I shortened it from "tactical sandals fuzzybreeches"  O0
