I wanted to get this started before I ran out the door for work. Mobile's ground may be mostly sand and hard to walk in, but there is some very fertile ground for Liberty in Mobile. Becoming of a city that's about 400 years old.

There was a lady on the line on Saturday that had some sort of electronic device that gave you weather conditions and it showed 137 degree heat index on the line. I think the forecast for Sat was 101 before heat index, and about the same on Sunday. This is probably 10 miles from the Gulf Coast so it was fairly wet heat. It was absolutely brutal. The shooters PERSISTED!

We had one Rifleman who scored a 223 on Sunday; a LEO with one of the best attitudes I have ever come in contact with.  @&) This young man's heart is with the people, and he is sort of a student of Sheriff Richard Mack. Yes, he left with an orange hat on his head!

Everyone had huge improvement. There were several who, if they had the proper equipment (enabling the USGI websling) would have scored also. One Unreconstructed Rebel & Unconventional Entrepreneur scored 206 not even using a sling to get stable!

We explored the implied deeper meanings of a few statements made by Benjamin Franklin & John Adams and showed through the revealing of history the profound truths in their wisdom. Instructors got choked up in giving the history, and participants gobbled up everything 4merusmc, Brandon1 or Bama could throw at them....and then demanded more!

A lot of water was consumed. Deer Park should help advertise for Suthron Summer Appleseeds.

Appleseed will be back to Mobile's Moss Hill Sportsman's Club. We're aiming for April next time!  ++)

I tip my kepi to FB & GS as BOTG, without whose support and efforts this shoot would not have happened. A short time from now you will be able to look back and recall who was responsible for planting that tree in Mobile.

Bless you all, my brothers and sisters.

In Liberty,
Bama

With you three red hats there, I have no doubt that your boundless enthusiasm carried over to the shooters, despite the heat.   ^:)^  Sounds like you all had a great shoot, despite what Mother Nature threw at you.  Sorry I couldn't join you, but maybe next time.  I can't say I'm sorry I missed the heat and humidity, but I do miss the camaraderie of the "Bama Bunch".  My best to all.

Hello to the Redhats and fellow appleseeders who attended this event!  I just wanted to say thanks to all the instructors who took the time out of their own lives this past weekend to help with the event.  Although I didnt earn the coveted rifleman patch, I did learn some new things about my shooting, and was impressed by the willingness of the instructors to help even in that forsaken heat (thanks for those tents on the firing line guys, those were lifesavers!)

I have to say that I noticed the Redhats doing much of the history lessons from straight memory with little or no reference at all to any cheat sheets.  I thought that was rather impressive, and it was obvious that these men believed in what they were preaching...

Bama, PM comming your way...

That last post was so wrong. **)

This was a very hot weekend!!!!!!!  All shooters persisted through the heat and begged for more. Sorry we could not shoot any later than we did on Sunday but well yall wore us out.

Shooters showed marked improvements in shooting ability and showed up with a willingness to persist through some of the hottest weather possible.  Guys thank you for all the hard work and your attitudes. O0 I feel like seeds of liberty fell on very fertile ground. It is my hope that the seeds that were planted will grow and plant seeds of their own.

Really good weekend. My son and I had a great time. Not much to advise about. all was well. The only thing I can think of to improve is that I did not know that we needed a GI sling.

This Appleseed was definitely a test in perserverance; it was hot!  As Bama mentioned, Callie brought out a piece of equipment that read the heat index at 131, last I heard.  I didn't want to hear any further reports as I didn't want to think about the debilitating heat.  If I'd heard that 137, I'm afraid it would have gotten inside my head, not in a good way.  The shooters brought out their best teachable attitudes.  I applaud and thank each and every one of you!  It was a real pleasure being among such staunch patriots.  You could have stayed inside the cold, frigid air conditioning, but you took a stand for liberty and perservered through the heat.  Of course, wouldn't you know it, this was one of the few Bama Appleseeds where there wasn't any rain, even though isolated thundershowers were in the Gulf Coast forecast.  A hearty congrats to JP for shooting a Rifleman's score and taking the Orange Hat.  I'm really looking forward to returning in April for the next AS at Moss Hill and building on the success we had this weekend.  A big salute to all the shooters and instructors that made this event worthwhile!

Bama Gordon is going to get you for that picture.
Thank you guys for enduring the heat with us. It is individuals like you and the student there that make me
proud to be an American Patriot.
Looking forward to the next time.
Be sure to bring my patch and I will show you the score to prove it's mine.

Bama, thanks for the AAR! All of you instructors were absolutely awesome! This course was worth every single penny--taking the Rifleman patch and the orange hat were just icing on the cake.

I had a ton of fun (and laughs) with all of the participants. All of you guys were outstanding company, and I can't think of a better way to spend a weekend than with a bunch of like-minded individuals with great attitudes and ample determination. 8)
