Dallas Arms Collectors Association (DACA) Gun Show June 12-13 AAR
The Fruits of Appleseed

Thanks to folks in Fredericksburg who are members, DACA Comped a show table for Appleseed at the big show at Dallas Market Hall this weekend.  Gotta tell you, I have never seen a gun show this big.  As Ed Sullivan would have said this truly was a "Really Big Shew."   O0

For starters, Beezer invited us over Friday night for backyard burgers, hmmm really great.   O0 ^:)^  We got in a new batch of the Texas and surrounding states Trifold with new locations added like FBG and SHV and Tulsa (Now OG will have to get busy and make Tulsa happen  &)  (Thank you Spit for the design and Beezer for picking them up Thursday).  These trifolds are really sharp. We talked about all things Appleseed.

Spitstickler, Texas Rifleman, and Ron, manned the table Saturday, Starfox, Beezer, and POP on Sunday.  Hoppe, Tonya, Jerry, from FBG were there.  BDG, and friends Denny and Fred (the Valley Rat) came by Sunday.  It was kind of a dual purpose weekend.  Also in Dallas this weekend was a Texas Political Convention.

Sunday at the show I found that selling Appleseed seemed to be much easier than it used to be.  I don't think it is just the Dallas area, but, folks just seemed to much more receptive to talking Appleseed than previously.  But, more than that, it seems to me that more than half of the folks I spoke with had already heard about Appleseed and were interested before we started up a conversation.  Finally, I met probably six folks who had shot Appleseed previously.  One was a vendor who attended 3 Davilla weekends in 2008 plus the November Davilla RBC.  He remembered my name and my son Dylan.  A father/son Steve and George who shot Davilla after Christmas 2009 were there.  George who is 10 is ready to come to another Davilla event.  Dad says they will be there when it gets a little cooler.  They and Mom shot AR, AK, and M1 that weekend.  Another couple of vendors shot the April 19 Fredericksburg and are excited about coming back to the FBG events this Fall.  Several folks will be at the Shreveport event in two weeks.

At the "Political Convention" Friday and Saturday I spoke with more than 100 people about Appleseed, plus probably another 50 on Sunday at the DACA show.

Folks, Appleseed, thanks to the efforts of the DFW Metro area Appleseeders, has made a definite North Texas impression.  I think that new Metroplex Appleseed range will be here before you know it.

A big thanks  &) to Dallas Arms Collectors Association for the Table.

This weekend was a good one for Appleseed!

I agree with POP, we had alot more people at this gun show that were already familiar, or at least had heard of Appleseed.  I take that as a good sign we are reaching "critical mass" in the DFW area!!   ^:)^

We're working hard and fast to get us a range close to the Metroplex, with Beezer spearheading a couple different efforts with regards to ranges with in a stone's throw.

This gun show seemed a little down on attendance versus the Fort Worth shows, but we were still able to snag quite a few people I think will be seriously considering coming out to an Appleseed.  And we got another lead on a potential private land owner wanting to develop a DAR.  Not to shabby!!!    :)

For me, with DoubleLL being consigned to the panhandle of Florida this weekend, it was a special treat to be in the company of Rifleman all weekend.  Always a pleasure, and a heaping helping full of gratitude to Beezer (and the hospitality of Mrs Beezer) for burninating some dead cow flesh and spitstickler for helping to provide some Frosty Brew.   You all are the best!

We have alot of sticks in the fire in DFW, and I can feel to momentum.  2010 is going to be a great year for Appleseed in the Metroplex!!!

Good job POP! Don and I got our flyers the other day, and Khristy and I headed to Badcau to shoot, fish and hand out Flyers. We made a stop at Acadamy to buy ammo and give the Gun Depatment guys and girls some flyers to keep on the counter. As I walked up wearing my Appleseed shirt and my New Appleseed red, white and blue hat, the guys behind the counter, whom I had never seen before, greated me saying "when are ya'll having another AS up here?" I gave em the Flyers, told them when and where, and the guy, Tony said people had been asking if He had heard of US! He tells me that on every Firearms related Forum he is a member of, and he says he is a member of 5 such Forums, people are talking about AS in a very GOOD way! ^:)^  He gave me the name of a man that works at a store next to Acadamy, who is a moderator at a Mauser forum. He says this guy wants to speak to me about AS. I don't know what I can say to him that our Forum doesn't already tell people, but I'm going to meet him later today! He should be able to help us fill the line on the 26-27.  I'll have Josh, Ethan, and 2 or three of Gralans boys also, and maybe Gralan too, at this next shoot. Bring your extra rifles if your comming this time.

    Good job, here, guys! O0

It's thanks to a lot of people doing this that AS is becoming a "household name" (well, one day, anyway... :) )

Thanks for doing it!!! :)

It was a good weekend for sure. Beezer, those burgers were awesome and goes to prove that you can be a Rifleman AND a good cook too! :)

Steve Kobs (ductail) was there all day Saturday as well. Thanks for everyone who helped pull this off, including all the great folks down Fredericksburg way who laid the groundwork to make this happen. Special thanks to Thomas Wilder, the DACA Gun Show Chairman, for letting us have a table free of charge.

This was a perfect weekend to have this, because with two events in the near future, it was great to be able to ask "What are you doing next weekend? We have a shoot in Davilla." and if they were busy the follow up was easy "Well, the weekend following we have a shoot in Shreveport!"

Pop, sorry I missed you guys but I did not "man" a table at the show. Wished I could have been there though.
Maybe you have me confused with someone else.
Ya'll stay safe in this heat.

Well Dave, apparently I am definitely Kornfused.  ++)
Steve is who I meant.  Spit corrected me earlier.  Steve is "ductail."
But, TR, you WERE there.  Yeah, six Riflemen manned the table along with other Appleseeders who were present at the show as vendors and paid shoppers.  But, you and the entire contingent of Appleseed Were there in spirit.   O0 ;)  Ya'll come help out at the next DACA show.
