Just ordered new tec-sights and received a new improved front sight. It works great and addresses the problems with the old style sight.  Slots have been cut in the steel sight to make it fit any size sight notch tight and screws on the side to keep the sight from sliding side to side. These improvements should fix the problems from the past.$22.00 for just a complete sight and $15.00 for the sight base only. Happy trails

Saw them on arfcom.  They look to be better made and more robust for those folks who "drop" their rifles, or bank them into hard objects.

Rough and tough.
"The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles."

The new front sights are much better!
I was never too happy with the old aluminum style. It sits crooked and looks out of place. I bought two of the new front sights and they are great. They sit flat and straight. They look "right" and are made of steel. Not known if steel was needed but I like it! The clamp that holds the new version in place is a lot stronger than a setscrew pushing the sight up out of the dovetail like on the old one.
