It was another fine day at the Piru Appleseed Range. With a total Saturday of 11 shooters some were returning but most of them were first timers. Sunday we had 15 shooters show up shoot.
The weather and conditions were near perfect Saturday with a little bit of rain on Sunday afternoon. However riflemen persist and there were no complaints just lots of happy shooters. Veterans of the Piru Range that returned on Sunday were happy that usual heat wind and dust were not present.
We had one Rifleman score on Saturday shot by Joe a man who knows very well what he is about. Joe overcame some early problems with his magazines but was able to borrow some from another shooter and it allowed him to make magazine changes and complete the day. Congratulations Joe. Steve a returning Appleseeder also made big improvements and was shooting great groups and will make rifleman soon.
Saturday ended with all Shooters tired but happy. We had two youngsters on the line who shot very well, safely and never gave up. Both were awarded the Luther Blanchard patches. Congratulation Zach and Aiden.  Sunday dawned California cool at 40° and some clouds. We started out with a warm up on the Redcoat targets and a few squares and went right into AQT's. The rain started in the after lunch.
After many AQT's, lots of instruction Roger, and Tom, came close to making rifleman's score with 208's. It was a great Appleseed with one more Riflemen minted in the state of California, and several more not far away.

Thanks Dano!! We all know that a Rifleman persists. Those 208's will turn into 220's next time, as long as they take what they learned, go home and dry fire. It works and saves ammo.  O0

Congratulations Joe on earning the Rifleman patch!!

Yes, lots of 208's. And since I am so bad on names, the Marine from Camp pendelton also got the 208.

Nice Appleseed. We are all waiting for Roger to get that score. He is definately persistent and would be a great addition to the program.

Sounds like I missed a good one.  I will be all healed up and back on my feet by next month.
