Tom (a multi-shoot Appleseeder) and I set up a booth at the Owensboro KY gun show on Oct. 24/25.  This was the first show in Owensboro in about 15 years!  The show promoters not only extended an invitation to us but gave us a wonderful table right outside the door to the main show area.

The goal was to bump up attendance at the remaining area shoots this year.  Approximately 2000 attendees were exposed to our table and we distributed over 130 fliers to interested prospects.  We also met a director of the Owensboro Rifle and Pistol club (www.orpci.org) who is very interested in hosting a shoot there.

The show also was a reunion of sorts with over a dozen previous appleseeders dropping by the booth including our newest IIT, Tall man.  Very cool to see that many familiar faces!  The program is really growing!

What a nation has done, a nation can aspire to.
Dr. Jerry Pournelle

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.

This is known as "bad luck."
