Title: IBC in Colorado
Post by: RifleWoman on July 15, 2009, 07:31:46 PM
Anybody interested in an IBC in Colorado?   Looks like we're going to have one on July 25-26 actually might start the 24 in the evening.  It's looking like it will be in Westminster so that's pretty close for People either side of Denver, NM and WY would be an easy drive.

Westminster? :D That's so close I could ride a horse down there. The Co state troopers might frown on my having animals on I25 though ++)

I know I've seen it somewhere on the forums but I can't seem to find it now.  #)

Would someone point me toward the post that lists what we should bring to the IBC?  I imagine our personal Instructor Manual we're working on, Fischer's book, a notepad, pens...  should we also complete and bring the PCs for our next levels?  Like I said, I think I've stumbled across it wandering the forums previously, but can't seem to find it now.

Well, there is this: http://www.appleseedinfo.org/bc_whattobring.htm

and some more (e.g., "What's a good list of spare parts to bring?") here: http://www.appleseedinfo.org/bc_faqs.htm

Uhmmm.... well, not really. I'm not running the IBC so I can't speak definitively about what to bring but my understanding is that you can leave the rifles and ammo at home and bring a MUCH bigger notebook.

I have yet to attend an IBC but "those in the know" have told me that usually no shots are fired. I'd ask the organizers for direction.

Thanks guys.  This weekend is going to be an Instructor's Boot Camp as opposed to an Rifleman's Boot Camp, so there won't be any shots fire... at least I'm thinking Skid's hoping there won't be since it's not at a range!   **)  Though we'll have rifles there for dry firing and instruction.

The IBC focuses on teaching to teach - both the marksmanship and the American heritage.  I just wanted to see if anyone knew where the post I had seen was (seems like it was a post by Nickle).  If there are supplies I need to pick up for the weekend, I didn't want to wait until the last minute.   ;D

Well we have 7 signed up now.  I was hoping for 12 but 7 is good.  Still time to sign up.  IIT's from other States are of course welcome.

However, You'll all make me look dumb so maybe keeping it to a few is better.  ;D

Biathalon, shame on you! If I can come out to this from the east coast, you can sure drive a few hours down from WY!

Heck, don't send me back to the &^%$ east coast on Monday without having seen you for an entire weekend! :)

Anybody else: Let's get to this IBC if you can; we're overdue to get CO aflame from end to end for Appleseed - lots of good potential DARs out there, lots of people who need to come to Appleseed...

None of this will happen, unless YOU make it happen.

This is one of the few times in your life where YOU can make a difference.

I will be in Denver before lunch on Friday. If we have any locals in Denver, or anyone showing up Friday, maybe we can do supper Friday night. Let's quickly figure out if we want to do this.

Count me in for supper Friday evening, Fred.  Where are you staying?  I work in downtown Denver and can either do dinner down here in the Denver area or if you're staying up closer to the IBC site in Westminster, I can meet up there too.  (though I don't know the restaurants up there, so someone else would have to pick a location.)

     "Restaurants"?

     People eat in "restaurants"?

Friends, better eat at "restaurants" before this weekend.

This weekend will be working - and meals will be working, also. So look forward to McD's, Wendys (a favorite), and maybe, if we run out of luck, BK...and those are the "big" evening meals, where we relax and luxuriate from the toils of the day, while we review what we covered.

In fact, plan on bringing lunch Sat and Sun, if possible.

Start time? 8 AM would be good, Sat - will prob work good on Sunday, too.

We can set it earlier if you like.

5 AM Denver is 7 AM eastern. :)

'Bout time you mountain-time slackers understand: by the time you wake up in the morning, us east-coasters have been Appleseeding for two hours - or more! :)

Hey, Wendy's is a restaurant!   And you're in luck, threre's one up that direction! (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=wendy%27s&vps=7&jsv=166d&sll=39.920302,-104.999943&sspn=0.015502,0.031328&gl=us&ie=UTF8&radius=0.83&ei=s29oSpikDI-gMqHwmJsO&cd=1&cid=14474465103080456511&li=lmd)  ;)

Yup, Dwayne, there's also a Golden Corral (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=1975+W+120th+ave,+Westminster,+CO:+golden+coral&vps=2&jsv=166d&sll=39.913818,-104.986725&sspn=0.062015,0.125313&gl=us&ie=UTF8&ei=U25oSobiKpvCMonCnMUO&cd=1&cid=771092193896223120&li=lmd).

And if those don't trip your trigger, there's a Cracker Barrel, too... (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=1975+W+120th+ave,+Westminster,+CO:+cracker+barrel&vps=1&jsv=166d&sll=39.874834,-104.976082&sspn=0.06205,0.125313&gl=us&ie=UTF8&ei=FG9oSsu-GIjWNdXz7ZsO&cd=1&cid=17850209814370475641&li=lmd)

Just tell me where and when, and I'll be there!  ;D

For anyone who didn't see the email from Riflewoman, it looks like we'll meet at the classroom location at 6:30 Friday evening for dinner (location TBD).

See you all there!!

Ok Zombie we'll have you be the navigator.  Fred likes Golden Corral, but we could hit that other night.  I don't think it really matters to Fred as long as they serve grilled cheese sandwiches.  ;)  No, I'm not kidding.  **)

Grilled cheese sandwiches or burgers from Wendy's.

No lie, seen it myself.
