Title: Wisconsin laws and minors with firearms...
Post by: fepowered on June 30, 2009, 05:20:57 PM
I am getting the question alot regarding the minimum age for someone to shoot at an Appleseed in WI.  The first question to ask yourself is if your child has the patience and maturity to be on a firing line for hours at a time with others and follow the safety and shooting commands given.  There is no bench shooting at Appleseed as all positions rely on the shooter and their body to support the rifle at all times in the sitting, prone and standing positions.
It is the responsibility of the individual shooter and the responsible adult to ensure that they are aware and that they comply with all State and Federal laws.

I am deeply saddened, but not surprised, that the State has assumed that it has the power to interfere in an affair that should only be between a parent and his/her child.

Are you aware that the California Junior team shoots bolt action rifles at the Nationals at Camp Perry because the State has decided that it is illegal for one of the State's children to handle or shoot an AR15 "assualt rifle"?

So sad that it even has to be a consideration for the sperm and egg donors for the State's children.

They only get away with it as long as we let them......

Along with the 10 year old hunting, there is no more minimum age to "target practice".  This topic is dead and I will start a new on with the updated info.
