To avoid confusion, we are separating the ADAPTIVE pistol and Adaptive AQT techniques which is rifle stuff. Bbq_bandit is at a pistol event this weekend and will be sharing some good stuff here a bit later.
Us adaptives working to share ADAPTIVE techniques and insights to help both students and instructors would very much appreciate you checking out the latest posts on the ADAPTIVE AQT techniques thread. Your input is important as this is an attempt to organize info to help you search

Appleseed Pistol Clinic
Annapolis, MD
July 16/17, 2022
Subject: Adaptive Appleseed - limited use of one hand.
Pistol: Smith & Wesson Victory (SW22) with aftermarket parts + red dot
As of this writing - the course of fire is defined:
Stage 1 - 1 target (10 shots in 10 seconds/1 mag of 10 rounds)
Stage 2 - 2 targets (2 mags/loaded 6 and 4) 15 seconds
(Alternating pairs on alternating targets with mag change)
Stage 3 - 1 target (5 shots - 15 seconds/left hand only)
Stage 4 - 1 target (5 shots - 15 seconds/right hand only)
Stage 5 - 4 targets (2-2-3-3/2 minutes @2X point value)
The only points to adapt are two areas: limited to one hand and the brace on my right hand - which has a secured high strength magnet on the backside of the fist. Once the pistol has the mag ejected... I turn the pistol to a horizontal position with the muzzle still pointing downrange in a safe direction and place the steel portion of the slide secured onto the magnet.

In this orientation - the position mimics the same oriention as a right-handed shooter with access to the magwell "in the shooter's workspace" - inserting from the left side into the magwell. Once the magazine is reseated into the pistol; I re-acquire a good pistol grip with my left hand, pivot, and lift the pistol off the magnetic brace back to a normal vertical alignment and drop the slide/bolt release with my trigger finger since its already out of the trigger guard before I re-aquire the target.

227/250
Was somewhat surprised did not score all hits on that stage #4 ... 4 hits on second target. Oh well.
Full disclaimer: have been shooting with a local Bullseye pistol league for a number of years; thousands of rounds live fire, refining the process within firing the shot with an airsoft pistol, and dry fire practice.
Practice does pay off when there is a concentrated focus... a common aspect to adaptives! :~ :~ :~
WOW! AWESOME shooting!
Yeah… he was high score for weekend. True inspiration.

First Redcoat Saturday morning: 1911 45 ACP
First Redcoat Sunday morning: SW22 22LR
First PQT Sunday - 233/250
All shot with my primary (left) hand.
Never said I was the sharpest knife in the drawer... however noticed the similarities in size between the Redcoats and the PQT targets...
Hmmm. Is it possible to shoot the PQT with a 1911 (45 ACP) one handed?
Challenge accepted
That's some fine shootin'!
Thank you sir!
It dawned on me some time ago...
Shooting precise shots one handed... eliminates half the variables and problems (using two hands). So let's simplify that equation. Once the Index, NPOA, Stance, Steady Hold Factors, and the Six steps firing the shot is reconsidered... become a focused process of "rinse and repeat".
Thanks for sharing the update. Inspiring how you actually managed to do this despite physical challenges!
Finding bits of humor in the face of adversity is a powerful technique to relieve the mind and open the door to creative solutions outside the confining box
A true story at that clinic.... with a splash of dark humor.
One of the shooter's was appreciating the targets I had shot one handed and asked me, "What would it cost (her) to shoot that way?"
With a twinkle in my eye and a wink, "It cost me an arm and a leg."
She appreciated the humor too...
Bob aka BBQ_Bandit shared this truly amazing video of NO hands pistol shooter. NEVER underestimate a determined adaptive student or instructor!

Never underestimate an adaptive! This is quite inspiring.
An October clinic PQT fired completely all ONE handed and this was first time trying it with a 45 caliber, 1911 using iron sights. Can you say black on black? 6 o'clock hold! BBQ_Bandit set a higher bar challenge and did some nice work. Look forward to seeing next time. Good show brother Appleseeder!
Cool pictures include targets plus a 1911 adapted for his conditions.
Thank you RG!
It's still a work in progress... scored 181/250.
Time to upgrade to fiber optics sights.
Stay tuned
