Some of us Vets Shooting center regulars and Appleseed Riflemen met at Vets for some KD rifle practice on the steel range and also tried our hand at some Pistol targets. Shooting with fellow Appleseeders is always a good time, also a good time to solve the nations problems, among other things! :)
I met ArcEagle and Airforce Bill at 0830, we soon unlimbered our rifles and went to work! Ringing steel is a lot of fun and the Vets Shooting Center is a good place to shoot! After a good bit of ringing steel, we decided to try some Pistol targets. We find that the Appleseed Pistol targets are a worthy challenge, but after getting used to the mag changes and short time limits, we found that we were shooting qualifying scores! When Arkansas has a Appleseed Pistol Clinic on the books, we will be sure to attend!
I believe it would be quite something to somehow incorporate shooting Appleseed qualifications along with Appleseed Pistol Clinic at the same event, maybe some kind of advanced course? Maybe food for thought?
As always, if in our AO and want to shoot with some old hand Appleseeders on KD or the reduced course, give us a shout, we'll likely saddle up and meet you at the range.
