Title: El Paso, Texas AAR, Nov 13-14, 2021
Post by: Mrs. Smith on November 18, 2021, 05:01:11 PM
Saturday morning dawned clear and bright as 15 students and 8 cadre met at the El Paso Community College Law Enforcement Training Academy range for a weekend of Liberty, Marksmanship, and History.  Our students ranged from 11 years old to 74, and the range of shooting experience was just as broad.   We had folks new to our program, and some repeat offenders.  But EVERYONE was there to learn, and to have a great time.

After introductions, the First Strike of the Match, and the Safety Briefing, we got down to business and introduced our students to the Hits Count target, affectionately known as the Redcoat.  That established our students' baselines going into our course of instruction.  Step by step over the two days they learned the fundamentals of Marksmanship and how to implement them. They learned about the Second and Third Strikes of the Match. They learned about the Dangerous old Men, Dangerous Dames, and brave youth who were willing to sacrifice everything they ever knew for the freedom and Liberty of their Posterity.

By weekend's end we had two new Riflemen, Steve and Glen, one requalification, Jay, and much improvement across the board with all of the students.  Some of the more experienced in the group found the AQT to be quite challenging, and I'm sure they'll be back to face it again!

To our students, Fred, Freddy, Carlye, Seiji, Amanda, LoraLee, Efisio, Michelle, Eric, Mike, Jay, Steve, Glen, and Paul, the cadre and I thank you for your time, your energy, and your willingness to learn from us. We hope to see you back on our line again soon!

February?  ^-^

Sounds like the only thing that could have made it better would have been a couple of schmos traveling down from Iowa during a Texas blizzard.
