Okay it less than a week away and I look forward to meeting all of you..I have posted on many site around the state so if the info's not there its on here..

Thanks for the up date on the dates ...I have been at the shooting school in Tulsa all this week and my phone keeps ringing ......Thanks to who ever hit the fort sill guys with flyer seems they are going to be at the April dates for sure they are in the feild right now so March was out for them ...But guys keep calling me I can get what ever info you need for the shoots ...
One last thing if anyone has a handle on backers and range stuff let DAD or myself know fast we dont know if the gears on site in grandfeild???And yes I have asked the range gods from texas for any and all help on supplies..Well time to get going again keep up the phone calls Iam here to help...

We are only a few weeks away from the April date we've all been waiting for ....And this is a fine time to say that We Will get 3 more dates here in Oklahoma!!!!Yes Sallisaw has given us the range once more .It will have the Chase for the AQT I myself need to shoot a few ..So figure on May Sept and One more before deer season for sure..
Back to Badlands The camping is great but if your not into the dirt and stuff well many places right down the road to sleep ...If there are any IIT that need PC's done I ask you to contact the shoot boss and let him know so your paperworks on hand....Other than that we have over 30 ready to go with surely more walk on's possilbe ..The website has plenty of links to get you to the shoot Pre reg list.. I suggest you get it done soon till then contact me or smiley dan for anything PC related That means IIT's step up and pick your task ..lol

Update as of today ...The event is soldout and thats a good thing..I have had a few calls about switching dates to the Sallisaw event and thats fine just make sure to contact Riflewoman and nickle to make sure they get the paperwork done ....There is no problem with switching dates as long as we have the info ....
Other than that I will be on site the morning of the 17 to get my spot near the pond setup...I might even try to play with the fish aswell .This is a very nice place to camp just remeber to not start open fires the landowner said no open flames .I myself will have a propane stove so keep that in mind...40 Plus shooters!!!! sounds like a fun time .Seea soon .If anyone needs anything before thursday let me know.....

Badlands has once again invited the appleseed back to his nice place..So here you have it the most want event in the state....April 19th event will have close to 50 slots so don't wait till the last minute..The paperwork has been sent up ..Both the camping site and the bunk house is open for shooters to use..All this and just 10 bucks is all it cost..I will be watching this thread if anyone has a question or problem .We had a great time last year I look for more fun on sunday so bring centerfire rifles ..1000 yard plus if you never seen a rifle slap a steel target come on out and watch..You just might be the one that did it ..lol ...

I'm all signed up and good to go. Looks like Matt and Chris, the Stillwater IITs, are planning on coming too. Man I love Badlands. I'm planning on staying in the bunk house. Good times are always had in that place!

p.s., those pictures in this thread from last year are a hoot! It seems like a long time ago that I first earned my Rifleman's patch and took the orange hat, but it was actually less than a year ago.

I cant thank The school for letting us use this Outstanding sniper course..Yes the owner is a SNIPER INSTRUCTOR that holds training many times a year.. AS of today the pre-reg numbers have made it passed 25..Hmmm just weeks away dont miss out on a great time.I'll be in Tulsa april 11th weekend for the biggest gunshow in the area ..If you need help getting rifle gear one of the States many Instructors will be around..Try to make sure you have everything to enjoy the weekend..Hope to see a few of you comeout the weather will be great.. One thing that needs to be very clear is the range fee's .Its 10.00 a day so 20 for the weekend Per Person as Per the landowner.....As for the bunk house its the same 10 a night..So plz have that on hand at sign in !!!!!!!!!!!!

Boy did we get alot of stuff done lastnight..The radio show seen lots of folks on line..
In the nut shell all is well and it going to be fun.For those that are following the trail we need to have a list of things to do..Yes that means PC's Each of you know your strong spots in Instructing so pick out something and be ready to say I'll do that..
I want to see all Instructors at the range on Saturday by 7am we need to go over a few things...And for the ones that make it there Friday we will cover some highlights on KD ranges and whats is our goal for it...
I need to have paperwork on PC's I might have a few to hand out but not many..I need at least 2 of you to test out on redhat??Seems we need to get a few of you up and running so the ones that are headed toward master and Senior can move on to the next level in Appleseed..We need at least 2 Masters for the state so we can run bootcamps for the tri state area...
As for the Shooters coming to this event If you see something you like ..Let us know and If you want to join us in Instructing just say so we'll get you started too..

I'm signed up for both Saturday and Sunday.
I was at the one a month ago at OKC GC but didn't score rifleman. Taking a 22 this time to focus on the fundamentals.
For Sunday, since we're shooting so far out, would a CMP M1 Garand be a good choice? I wouldn't mind taking some 1000 yard shots, but I don't really think my Garand is much more accurate than was necessary back in WWII.
I bet I'll be seeing some familiar faces at this one. See yall then.
One last question. Is the range fee $10 to cover BOTH days or $10 EACH day ($20 total)? This is what is shown on the event registration page and I think this is the same message that was used on the last Appleseed.
"Range Fees for this event: $10.00 for Both days"
On Saturday we will collect the fees and if the flyer did say that but it Pre the landowner so I'll make sure to find out but for the use of this range its cheap . So if he want 20 I think its fare..As for the CMP rifles you'll be amazed as to what it can do.Look up the Ballistics on the 30.06 .You might be surprised When you see it smack way out there.
Once sunday comes you'll be more than ready to shoot the Rifleman's Quarter mile with that old WW2 battle rifle lol..Thanks for coming back out and I hope you can shoot one Aqt before lunch comes ..I think you be getting a patch soon .Lots of the shooters from the OKC shoot were well on the way of making it..I take it you just cant stand not having one of your own...

OK, LISTEN UP GUYS, CAMPING PLANS HAVE CHANGED...
The camp site has changed -- Sheriff Whittington is letting us camp right on the 1000 yard range where we will be shooting all weekend, rather than at the old site, which is farther away. The directions on the flyers and on the registration site lead to the OLD camp site (the one we're not using). However, you take the same county road off the highway to get to both sites, so MOST of your directions are still good. You will still turn North onto County Road NS 232 off of Highway 70, and just watch for the signs. They will direct you to the right location. For those of you who have been to Grandfield before, we are not using the old camping spot by the pond. We will be camping right on the range. This should save everyone some time and let us get started more promptly both days.
Once again, if any of you have any trouble finding your way or any other concerns, just give OG or I a call. Our numbers are posted in this thread. I will not be on site until later tonight (probably around 9:00), but OG should be there earlier this afternoon.

Would have loved to stay longer but really didn't want to end up stuck in the middle of nowhere with the road flooded out. Still, I did learn some things and will keep plugging away. Thanks for everything, including the pink hat. If it wasn't still raining today, I'd be out shooting again. Good news is school is out soon then I have the whole summer to practice. Yay!

This isnt a AAR just a few notes...WE HAVE 4 NEW RIFLEMEN but 7 total.....And 3 reafirmed"Instructors" We had to shoot a few so we could have the purple patch...Figured if they can lay in the mud and rain so should we..And the story of the weekend is that the rain didnt stop and neither did we...Lots of pics and video .. the volley was great and the redcoat we use told just that....Any of you that need patches plzz PM me with addresses I'll work on getting them for us....We are now closing the clubhouse and the ranges are cold .. Thanks to all that made this happen..
On the other side of this we will be coming back soon...I would like input on when you would like to shoot this event again..I would love to have 50 plus in good weather.. So go find a overhead cover and get ready to shoot in the heat....Walmart has them for 90 bucks something to think about..

This was a great shoot! Hat's off to all who showed in spite of the, well, inclement weather. There were so many knocking on the door of that Rifleman patch, and working hard in tough conditions to improve. I have NO doubt that the folks who worked so hard in the mud and wind this weekend will PERSIST and sharpen their skills to beat 210. What a great, dedicated bunch of shooters, and two young men that stayed throughout are a great example for us old guys.
Wish we could have been there, rain and all. Just so you know, we were with you in spirit shooting a bolt action that hubby's grandfather built. Still wishing we had been on the line though.
I don't think I've been that muddy since I was a kid! Good times.
I'm glad we actually had students. When I saw how miserable the weather was, and that it was expected to stay that way all weekend, I thought we might just end up with an Instructor Boot Camp!
I'm looking forward to the pictures.

Did someone say it was a mudfest?lol well it was from jeeps and trucks just stuck to targets blowin off the backers.But we made riflemen 7 all together 3 of were Instructors..I will try to post more later seems everything I have is covered in mud and sand.I have to clean my rifles first off I hate rust ...
I cant say enough how much I would like to thank all that came to shoot and those that worked the event..LETS JUST HOPE WE GET THOSE PURPLE PATCHES WE EARNED THE HARD WAY......Even if we didnt get the shootbox we were to have gotten we still did it like we had one..lol Sure would have been nice to have something to give to all the shooters that came .. Like I said if it were up to me each one that shot would have been give a patch it was crazy weather..I kept looking for lightening and a twister but didnt see nothing but fog and heavy rains ...
I hope to see a few of you at the next shoot I think it will be dry and hot for sure...

I will try too post a AAR somewhere you all can see it..I posted a few pics and video .But since Ive been back I had to call and drive to see ranges and talk to contacts.So we might have a few near stillwater and OKC soon .So help talk it up dont no how much time will have to Promote them .As it sounds we will have plenty to fill a line at either location ..Not to say we will turn anyone away I havent and dont plan on doing that ever.

My family is actually having our Thanksgiving get-together that Saturday (Hensches actually doing something early rather than late? Wierd #)), so I will have to miss the first day of the shoot. I will either come down Saturday night or early Sunday morning, though... yes, I will let you guys do all the hard work on Saturday, and show up in time to play with the 1000 yard steel! >:D

Big Bobs port a potty is the company that we use the lady's name is chrissy..They are out of Lawton the numbers 1-580-353-1900 ...I always contact them a month before the shoot and most times guide them in to the location.The drivers never know where the range is so dont trust that they will find us..So be ready to meet them in town at bobby's classroom....
The only other thing is that the fee's for the dorm is 10 a night plus the range fee of 10 aday I'm not sure if the evenbrite got it correct .....God willing and the weather isnt the GRANDFEILD norm we will have a Known distance component..Well thats all I can think of at this time surely I'll have more to follow.....
Look for more events in the area from Tulsa to OKC ....But badlands is always the best place to get way out there on steel targets.......

We all can shoot it if we want too...Its a team effort so like always RO and the shootboss over see's all..So for the last few times there we made a few KD riflemen....But sure its fun.....
I just wish we had a 4 wheeler and a trailer to haul us back and forth..but the Jeep works okay too lol....Just pray for no rain ....
Sure wish you folks would hold one of these when I can make it...Can't convince the wife to let me out for a full weekend when we're going to have a 3 week old in the house. ;)

Im still kinda rust as the shootboss but if the guys all pull together Like we always do its a peice of cake......I know we had a few ready for the IIT4 check offs so the Instruction well be just top notch..These guys are so ready to go for the SBIT level but it will have to wait till or SC can watch them....
As far as some wishing they can come and not having the time to run down there how about we post some times that would work for all???Bobby loves having us there so we can do about anything we want toooo?????

Okay hope that sparks a flame on a few of you ...If anyone knows of a ORANGE hat hiding in the shadows letem know we need them to come play .....No rush but I could use a few good folks to fill the ranks..Myself or Hensch will help you out.....K98AL and dale are just as able to fix you up .....I cant wait till schools out too we got a few great school teachers that want to Instruct..HMMM home schoolers are cool.....Oh shellly its time to get the patch lady.....
