Title: Ramseur, NC June 12th One Day Pistol Event
Post by: Cousin Hart on June 13, 2021, 04:14:24 PM
The one day pistol event was enjoyed by all!
We had the best weather possible in June in North Carolina.  It was overcast, light breeze and not over 80 degrees.
The normal 25-yard target line was replaced by an idea found in the Pistol Forum.  We used snow fence, rebar, plastic pipe, guy lines and stakes.  Worked well but will need stiffening.  We used 55 gal drum barrels supplied by the instructors as firing point tables.  This idea came from a pistol IBC in Florida and works really well.
15 shooters signed up and showed up.  7 instructors were there.  We started at 8:30 and ended at 4 pm.  Got in three strikes, all the instruction, and 4 PQTs which put about 375 rounds down range.  From that we had 2 shooters that cleared the Hits Count! and a total of 7 who got Pitcairn's Button! At the end of the day we congratulated 4 new Pistoleerâ„¢s: Wayne, Hilton, Derek, and Bryan with several other shooters knocking on the door. Great bunch of shooters!
Thanks to all the instructors for coming out and making the instruction possible!

For a prototype, the snow fence rig worked really well.

It was a great day and a great bunch of shooters.
