Title: Toccoa March 14/15
Post by: Flathead on March 06, 2009, 07:56:26 AM
Just over a week to go until the Toccoa shoot!! The hills will be alive with the sound of gunfire!
Anyone that will be camping on site respond so I know how many happy campers we will have!
Looks like another big group of great Americans will be turning out for this one, there are 31 pre regs as of this morning.
Instructors and IIT"s drop me a line so we can make plans for this shoot.

Ok, here we go, just a couple of days until this shoot! Double check your bags and make sure you have everything you will need for the week end. Camping is still available and the range looks great and is ready for the influx of riflemen. Hopefully the great weather holds out it was in the 70's here this past week end but doubt it will be that warm this week end. Looking forward to see every one out there.

Is the camping open down the hill?  Or just at the top like last time?

I'm still considering and monitoring a situation here at home, but I hope to be there.

Camping will be by the clubhouse again, with over flow at the skeet range.

Hmmmm.  So far we have prediction for 40% and 50% chance of rain.   Come prepared for another mudbowl  !@#).

Look at it as an additional training opportunity...Sure will make us appreciate the campfire.

See ya'll there.

What fun would it be without at least a little rain!!! >:D   Like Son of Martha said it will make you appreciate the camp fire that much more.  But don't let a chance of rain stop you from coming out and learning some history you will not hear in the class room and meet some great countrymen and hopefully improve your shooting skills!

I'm still a hopeful, but it may just be for saturday.  Gotta figure out which ammo my 1022 likes best.  I'm zeroing in on the golden bullet I think.

Hey Buzz as long as you bring ALL of your gear this time!!  We want the women to get involved as much as possible. You got to love it when they are involved in your hobbies, just remember that next time they want you to go shopping ( or a piano recital ) just smile and say "of course I'll go!)

Looks like the pre-reg window ended before I could sign up.  I'm still planning on being there, though.

I missed pre-reg. too but like Appalacious i'll still be there. What's a little rain too a bunch of seasoned Appleseeders? The patriots in 1775 didn't worry about the rain, and they didn't have gor-tex. O0

APPLESEED IS AWESOME!!!!

Even in the cold and wet!!!!

I was up at Toccoa.  You'd probably remember me as a grey haird old fart ... that shoots with iron sites ... and problem mags in a M1A.

I really appreciate the time that Flattop and Thor took to spend with me and my Bud ... Really above and beyond.  My Bud is a fresh caught Nube of the first order ... and got a 186!!!  Your help was very appreciated.

anyoldways ... I've been spreading the word on a couple of forums I spend my time at ...

A couple of guys over at the AK Forums seem to be interested in doing one:

http://www.akfiles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=50433

I plan on putting similar posts on the web ... and turning my posts into emails that I can send to friends.  I already talked on of the guys I go to church with in attending the very next you y'all have in Georgia.

Consider how much I got out of the weekend...I can help pay it back by spreadin' the word.

Thanks again

oddshot.
