Title: South Huntsville, AL, AAR Half-Day Rifle- January 23, 2021
Post by: Google on January 23, 2021, 11:15:37 PM
Alabama hosted its first half-day rifle clinic on a beautiful, although chilly, day at Hobbs Island Shooting Range in South Huntsville.  Range owner Don Eiermann is a huge supporter of Project Appleseed and we are always grateful for his hospitality.

The shooters were enthusiastic and listened intently to the safety briefing and rifle familiarization instruction.  Then we got down to business with an eye dominance exercise followed by instruction on sling use, prone position, the six steps of firing a shot, and NPOA.  Dryfire drills reinforced the lessons before we started live fire on squares targets.  The shooters worked hard to put the instruction into practice and saw their group sizes improve quickly.  Once the Hits Count targets were posted a competitive edge was in the air.  We ended the day by firing 13 rounds on a Hits Count target to represent the 13 colonies.  :~

I want to thank the shooters and the instructor crew for making this a fun and successful event.  I hope to see everyone at another Appleseed clinic soon!

Sounds like a great event! We may have to try a 1/2 day shoot here and see what happens.

Sounds like this turned out to be a great feeder event!  Thank you to all the instructors who made it so.
