I love the smell of gun powder in the morning!
There was a great SOLD OUT KD event in beautiful Coeur d'Alene, ID at the Fernan Rod & Gun Club. Unfortunately, the 400 yard line is very narrow, so the event is limited at 12 students, otherwise more Patriots could have gotten valuable DOPE on their rifles.
The weather was a bit wet on Saturday, but thankfully, Mr. Clean had arranged for a covered 25 meter bay to be available on Saturday morning. The rain did not fade the enthusiasm of this group at all, and they all made great advancements in their KD skills. The rain finished dumping on Saturday night and we have a beautiful fall day for shooting on Sunday.
I want to thank all the people that drove from distant locals to participate in the event. I had the pleasure of meeting many of the participants at other AS events around the NW and it was great catching up again.
This event generated 6 new KD Rifleman, Huzzah!. Congratulations to John, Tim, James, Jay, Pat and Mark. Great display of marksmanship this weekend. The remainder of the students were shooting great groups and will earn their KD rifleman at their next event. There were a couple people shooting bolt action rifles that were challenged to get all of their rounds down range in the quick transition stages. Remember, practice makes perfect. I have witnessed a couple students that were using single shot bolt action rifles get all 10 rounds down range. They did this through lots of practice with their rifle.
This was the only KD event in the Pacific NW this year, as the other event were Covid cancelled. Hopefully the NW will have many more KD events in 2021, and I hope to see everyone at one of them.
Congratulations to the new KD qualified Rifleman!! That's quite a feat to have 6 of 12 make the cut at distance! Also congrats to all the instructors/volunteers for persevering in these crazy times to keep this event going. Huzzah to all!
A fine group of shooters indeed.
All had super teachable attitudes and as Prescott said, if they didn't get Rifleman this time, it'll be easy next time!
As always, thanks for letting me raid across the border & help out.
Grabbed a few pix at this event...

Sorry, I missed Jay's patch presentation, hopefully someone else will fill in...
Congratulations Jay on earning your KD patch! I hope to meet some of the ID instructors in the near future!
Congrats to the rifleman.
As always I had a blast.
Hope to do it again next year.
This was my third Appleseed event and it rained. So 2 out of 3 rained...ðŸ˜
Thank you to all the instructors for their guidance. Always fun to get out and shoot with great people!
