It was another wonderful weekend at the Sportsman's Club of Battle Creek. We had 10 shooters show up and endure the warm temps to make if a good and fun weekend. We had a good mix of first time shooters and experienced shooters who all made outstanding progress through out the weekend. It was really nice seeing the shot groups tighten up as the instruction sunk in over the weekend. Congratulations to all our shooters that got their rifleman score this weekend Rich G.made a good score just over the 210, but our own ML finally got her rifleman score and got baptized by the waters from under the north bridge. We also had a few requals from Bill Winkle and Rich C. Thank you to all the instructors that helped out this weekend and made it what it was.
Despite being physically tired I was re-energized by the events of the weekend. I did my first D.O.M. history, first safe rifle presentation and second stint at Line boss with much better results. Being able to use the unofficial motto of Project Appleseed ( Impovise, Adapt and Overcome) to help save an Appleseeder's day on Sunday and allow them to get a full day on the line was one of the best parts. The inteaction with the shooters in helping them figure out targets was invigorating. Earning promotion to the next lIT level was icing on the cake. We had a great group of shooters and an outstanding cadre of instructors and Blue hats.
Thanks to all !
