SB961 passed by for the year.  We dodged the bullet this year.  Many thanks to the efforts put forth by "the people".  :partytime:

Indeed we did dodge a bullet. Our work to defend the 2A in the Commonwealth is far from done.

Thanks to Appleseed Instructors and Veterans who contributed in various ways to support the grievances of patriots and persuade legislators to reconsider - at least for now!

"Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam's push to ban the sale of assault weapons has failed after members of his own party balked at the proposal.

Senators voted to shelve the bill for the year and ask the state crime commission to study the issue, an outcome that drew cheers from a committee room packed with gun advocates."

Solid win, but the war is far from over.  It's critical to get friends and family out to vote this November!

Just remember, that the vote this November will only have peripheral effect on this issue in Virginia.  We are stuck with the same House of Delegates until 2021 (ditto the TYRANT Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Attorney General) and State Senate until 2023.  The Federal and Presidential elections in November may give an indication of "the way the wind is blowing" but with Virginia (and New Jersey) out of sync with the Federal election schedule it won't change our situation.  Having"Eternal Vigilance" remains necessary.

I think the entire situation in VA (and NM and CO and . . . . ) shows something we have been warned about. We will never be able to rest. Our liberty is going to require our constant vigilance. We have given the tyrants pause . . . but it's not over yet, not by a long shot.

"Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty; power is ever stealing from the many to the few. The manna of popular liberty must be gathered each day or it is rotten. The living sap of today outgrows the dead rind of yesterday. The hand entrusted with power becomes, either from human depravity or esprit de corps, the necessary enemy of the people. Only by continued oversight can the democrat in office be prevented from hardening into a despot; only by unintermitted agitation can a people be sufficiently awake to principle not to let liberty be smothered in material prosperity." - Wendell Phillips on January 28, 1852

May we always keep our eye on liberty.
