Another great shoot at Mansfield Fish and Game, about half way between Boston MA and Providence RI. 17 shooters showed up Saturday in a mid 40s degree sunny day. We talked safety as always first, about our shared History and Heritage, steps to firing a shot and safety. This was a motivated group consisting mostly of returning shooters which produced 7 riflemen the first day. The second day a new Red Hat instructor was minted "Trebuchet", congratulations. Trebuchet is a good shot who has tickled 250 and is, I believed a licensed Concord Mass "1775" historian. Also attending was 2 new orange hats who were more than welcomed competent instructors.
Sunday Day 2 was cool, some would say cold with heavy, on and off rain. We gathered at 11:00 and talked safety, danger old men and women, known distance and history.
Given the Clubs local Sunday custom of 12:00 start and an earlier setting sun. We started with Red Coat and squares after which we ran an open forum four minute drills. Shooters could work on improving skills with capable instructors, go for breaking 210, an elusive distinguish patch or doing an AQT with a WW2 BAR. Sunday finished with 3 more Riflemen, two day total 10 out of 17. All motivated, impressive.
