We had an excellent group of 15 students, of which about half were first-time Appleseeders. Their attention and learning mindset made it easy, and a pleasure, for Bob, Cathy and Matt to run a safe shoot and provide as much individual coaching as we could.
The results tell it all: Five riflemen, of which two are newly qualified. Three others were very close indeed. From two Shingle hits on the first Redcoat to six on the final test.
We completed three AQTs on Saturday and six more on Sunday. The time spent in coached dry-fire practice on Sunday morning really showed in higher scores on the AQT as students were more solid in their positions and much quicker and smoother on transitions.
