Title: Ararat Farm Range Jonesville, VA 18-19 Oct AAR
Post by: HazMatt1 on October 22, 2019, 09:22:24 PM
Ararat Farm hosted a 2 day (Fri-Sat) Appleseed on their range in beautiful Southwest VA. We had 9 patriots come out both days.  5 shooters had attended Appleseeds before while 4 were new to the program. Two of the new shooters were from a local PD. The rain that was predicted for the weekend thankfully held off till after we finished on sat, and we had sunny skies for Fri and most of Sat.  Friday started off cold but all the shooters came prepared and were excited to learn about and practice Liberty!

Scotty impressed us all on Friday by scoring a 212 on his very first AQT ever! He shot a 222, a 230 and another 222. He scored 230 even with 5 rnds of "help" from his neighbors. (Not bad for a first time Appleseeder.) Keep up the practice Scotty, I'm looking forward to what you will accomplish next time!
Daniel grabbed his Rifleman Patch on Saturday with a 210(he barely missed getting baptized due to the cool temps ..:..). Keep working on your NPOA and you'll pass that benchmark next time.

We had one shooter pecking at Rifleman with a 206 & 205, and several shooters in the 190s. There was significant improvement from Fri morning to Sat morning in group size as all the students were anxious to learn and improve.  A big thanks to the youth shooters Justus, Trinity, and Zoe for your persistence in two days of instruction and your interest in the History. It's great to see the next generation on the line at events like this.

Our two Orange hats at this event, BoltGunBill & JonnyDiesel, did a great job working with the students and presenting their portions of the instruction. Well Done guys!
Thanks to CokeGuy for coming up to Shoot Boss for my SBiT3. It's always an honor to work with you.

I believe all the shooters went away excited to be better patriots and marksmen in their communities. But hey, don't take my word for it, give us some feedback guys!

It was a great time of learning the history of our great nation, and the importance that marksmanship played on that fateful day.
All of the instructors were very helpful and helped to make the day memorable and improve me level of shooting.

Yes, HazMatt1 I have many hours ahead of me to find my NPOA. That will help tremendously!
And since I scored rifleman (barely) my father (a Marine) didn't disown me. :)
I look forward to coming to many more Appleseed and bringing friends and family.

Congratulations! I hope to get down your way for a future event.  Jonesville is just 45 minutes from Harlan.

It truly was a great time! It was nice seeing everyone again, as well as meeting and making new friends!

Congratulations to all who qualified, and kudos to every shooter for their persistence and fine display of marksmanship.

Also, congratulations to HazMatt1! The new color looks good on you!

Great working with my fellow instructors/mentors at this event.  Both HazMatt1 and CokeGuy were instructors at my very first AS and it has been great working with them on my AS journey.  JonnyDiesal has been apart of that journey for several events now and it has been great working with him as well.
A big Thank You and Congrats to the shooters at this event.  You are what makes these events worth it!
