Title: Rifle Marksmanship at Vets Shooting Center
Post by: Quinncannon on September 05, 2019, 07:01:28 PM
One of my favorite days, Range Day at the Vets Shooting Center in Russell, Arkansas. There were four of us service rifle riflemen today, all shooting was at 600 yards. Shooting was in the MRP Highpower format, single loading each round, sixty rounds for record.

What does this have to do with Appleseed shooting? Well, just about everything. All four Riflemen present, are all Appleseeders and just happen to also compete in Highpower competition. Shooting consistently at 600 yards, means hits at the usual distance aren't really difficult to achieve.

Next week, the owners of the range are planning to have some heavy equipment on site to start work on the 600 yard range, some dirt work and to prepare another lane for 600. So, we may be back to shooting KD steel during this time!

I forgot about mentioning last week, that ArcEagle14, on one of his strings of fire at 600, achieved a 199/200. His other scores were in the mid 190's, excellent shooting to be sure.

As usual, we invite all of those who happen to be in our AO, who would like to shoot with us, give us a shout, we'll likely saddle up and meet you at the range!

Quinncannon, out.
