Title: Back on the Forum (Formerly Navybowhunter)

MD Crew,

I created a new account, my daughter is an IIT now and figured it would be a good idea to have an account on here as well.

I've still been promoting Appleseed (AS) as much as I can wherever I can.  Most of that is behind the scenes type stuff.

I also still attend the occasional AS event as well.

Still on the quest for my Distinguished badge, about 1/2 way there.

When I complete that goal, I'll likely get more involved as an instructor again.

Figured I'd drop in and say "Hi", and let ya know I'm here.

My offer still stands, anyone that would like to get started in HP rifle, I would be more than happy to help you on your journey.

As of late I have really been enjoying coaching my daughter, she is doing pretty awesome with her High Power journey and just Earned her Across the Course Expert classification!  10 yrs old, that has to be a record.

Hey Chris, welcome back! Congrats to Shannon on getting her Expert card, too; that takes hard work and good coaching (says a guy who's still unclassified).

Thanks all!

I may have oversaturated the forum a bit yesterday, those were cut/pastes of posts I had made on another forum that I felt appropriate for this forum as well.

I have more...but will give it some time for people to read what has already been posted.

Welcome back Chris! Always enjoy reading your HP advice posts. Congrats on Shannon's success (I know it is probably good coaching!) and her taking an orange hat.

Welcome back Chris! Always enjoy reading your HP advice posts. Congrats on Shannon's success (I know it is probably good coaching!) and her taking an orange hat.

I've often had people approach me and say "She has natural talent", NOPE....that is non existent in my mind for this sport.

What I attribute her success to, is "Fundamental Marksmanship Skills".  Pretty much what Appleseed teaches, the fundamentals, and nothing more or less than that.

All I have done, is pass down what I have learned thru trial and error, mostly error (LOL), and it really simply boils down to fundamentals.

Now...there is another attribute to this..., the fact that she started out with ZERO bad habits.  The only bad habits she is developing, are bad habits I have instilled in her.  I'm trying not to do that.

Kids are amazing in this discipline, and it is so rewarding to see her steady improvement.  At some point though, I'm gonna have to hand her off to a small bore/air rifle coach.  Those discussions are already starting to happen.
