Title: The Ohio Instructor Corps - Bringing It!
Post by: HammBone on August 27, 2019, 02:22:22 PM
Though I have not met you all, I've met a bunch of you and I've met many of the new instructors just donning the red hat. I just want to say how nice it is to work with such an impressive and dedicated group of folks. I am humbled to be counted amongst your ranks.

Congrats to all of you that competed at Camp Perry and did so well. Walking the walk is always nice after talking the talk as much as we do as instructors.

While on the Jonesboro border raid a couple of weeks ago, I got to work with Shep again. He casually mentioned that he was planning to do his Christmas get together again this year. If you have not done this, try to clear some space on the calendar. It really was a great time last year and putting faces to all those names was really helpful.

Special thanks for Corvette for his tireless manning of the Ohio helm. We are one of the best Appleseed states in the nation because of him.

And finally, if you ever find yourselves in the Cincinnati area around the 4th Saturday of the month (March thru November), please consider shooting the monthly service rifle match at Butler County Sportsmen Rifle and Pistol Club (2131 Millville Ave, Hamilton, OH 45013). Arrive around 8:30am to set up. Firing begins at 9am. It is very similar to our AQT but at 100 yards with standing-slow (no sling; SR-1 target), seated-rapid-transition (SR-1 target), prone-rapid-transition (SR-21 target), and (2) prone slow fire (MR-31 target). Garands, M-14s and AR-15s are the usual weapons of choice, but they are very flexible. There is no charge for the match other than a couple of bucks for the targets.

See you on the range!

Hammbone,

Gosh, I think I'm blushing. Thanks for this post.  All to often, I don't thank everyone on the Ohio team enough for stepping up and helping bail the ship.  With out a doubt, the many great Americans in my life are mostly Seeders.  Huzzah!!
