Title: February 28/March 1 2009 Santa Barbara Appleseed
Post by: rock-chucker on January 24, 2009, 03:07:27 PM
Hey Folks,

Back by popular demand... Appleseed shoot at the beautiful Winchester Gun Club range, located between Santa Barbara and Solvang.  Our first shoot there last September was a huge success, and our aim is to make this one even better. Range information can be found at http://www.wcgc.org/

So bring your friends, your family, your coworkers, and immerse yourself in the heritage that is Rifle Marksmanship in America!!!!  Whether you are an new shooter, or lifelong shooter; Appleseed welcomes you and will make you a better shooter.  Hone those shooting skills, make new friends and get back in touch with your Heritage.

Pre-register for this event at http://www.eventbrite.com/event/224948828%20%20 for Santa Barbara CA, February 28/March 1, 2009.

Although "walk-ons" are welcome on the day of the shoot, pre-registration is deeply appreciated, as it is a big help to know how many shooters to plan for.  We want to make sure we have enough of everything to make your Appleseed experience the best it can possibly be.  You will be rewarded for making our job easier by saving a few bucks by pre-registering.

It costs $45 for one day and $70 for two days if you pre-reg as opposed to $50 for one day and $80 for two days if you don't pre-reg. There's a per day shooter range fee for the parent facility ($12/shooter, 17 & under $3/shooter, Range members $4/each).  Please bring cash for this.

Its official, for 2009 Appleseed registration for Ladies, people under 21 years of age, and active military is FREE!

Do the math, consider the value, and you will find Appleseed is your best family outing bargain.

Bring your favorite rifle (Centrefire, rimfire, iron sights, scopes, we don't care).  Any rifle is fine, as long as its legal in California.  Repeaters with sling swivels, which use detachable box magazines are ideal, but we can work with anything you have.  You will need around 200 rounds of ammunition each day.  If you don't have a rifle or are bringing friends who don't have one, let us know in the comments on the sign-up so we can try to arrange loaners.

Eye and ear protection are required for all attendees.  Bring a lunch, water bottles, and folding chairs for lunch.  A mat big enough to lay down on will make your shooting much more comfortable.

Come on out, learn new marksmanship skills, perfect them on the Army Qualification Test (AQT) target; and learn what it takes to progress beyond an American rifle owner to becoming a true American Rifleman

See you there!

EventBrite not shining here either :-[

Who is  BOTG for Santa Barbara?

There are 18 dealers and gunshops within 60 miles of Santa Barbara, do they all have flyers?
Got any flyers at Big 5  on State St? and the one in Ventura? and beautiful scenic Oxnard.
Put any flyers with MWR at Hueneme yet? Some of them sailors are bound to have a rifle.
How about at Far West Gun? Custom Cartridge in Goleta?

You town is named after the patron saint of ARTILLERY  O0 and you can only get twice as many registrations as Piru?

You can't do Appleseed with paintball guns folks. Get off the bikes, stop watching the whales #) and get out planting them seeds (what till Texas hears about this)

Ok 'Fornia,
This is getting ugly the city named for the patron saint of ARTILLERY has a grand total of 2 people signed up for an Appleseed.
You got bazillions of people out there and have 2 (two) 5-3=2 people signed up.

Who is the BOTG for this shoot?
You got to go scrape them off the piers folks or bait them in with Baywatch gals or something to keep them from watching them overgrowed fish.

If'n ya don't get those numbers up quick you can just go cut a switch right now!

yes Sam some of us are out seeding the gun shops, gun show just before it, etc.

A response I'm hearing more and more from people is that they can't afford to float $70 bucks months in advance. When the paycheck comes in, and the furlough hasn't bitten off too much, they pay and attend.

Just because you don't see it on the forum doesn't mean we aren't out there beating the trees.

But hey, you Santa Barbara guys, yes you know who you are, that ain't no excuse to keep slacking... Git to it, otherwise I have to keep listening to old Yosemite Sam here...

Cheers
Phil
