Title: Akela - Passed Away
Post by: scuzzy on October 10, 2018, 08:59:36 PM
Hey Georgia,

Unfortunately Ron DeLaby, Akela, passed away. Evidently some relatives have a few things of his they would like to give to Appleseed.

They live near  Cumming and Dawsonville. Is there somebody nearby that would like to pick Ron's gear up? If so give me a PM and I'll get you the contact info.

See below of one of the emails:

Ron DeLaby, who was completing Instructor Training, passed away from cancer several months ago. He had put together a complete and accurate Revolutionary era costume, to include a replica flintlock rifle. Further, to illustrate his presentation, he had made up a detailed map of the progress from Boston to Lexington, and had that professionally blown up . His wife would like these items to go to our Georgia Appleseed coordinator, but, as no events are scheduled in our area, Forsyth, Dawson, or Gwinnett counties, I have no contact. Please give me a contact and I will assist her in contributing these items.  We were having shoots at the Georgia Gun Club, and at the shop in Sandy springs, Ga. but these were discontinued for some reason. The remaining venues, such as Toccoa, Ga. are too far for most of us.  We miss Appleseed. thanks.
