Title: Eatonville, WA Sept 2018 AAR
Post by: Kimber Custom on September 26, 2018, 02:13:20 PM
:'( I liked yesterday's forecast better than today's - but hey, there's still a few days for the weather guessers to change their mind  O0

Rain or shine, we will be on the line.

We dodged the weather bullet  :cool2: Couldn't have asked for better shooting conditions. 12 Patriots came to the line. I've never seen such an array of rifles from grandpa's closet to high end competition and yet very few mechanical malfunctions. Groups improved, AQT scores rose and everyone qualified on the redcoat  ~~:) Huzzah!

Congratulations to our 3 new Riflemen  ^:)^ (2 running bolt guns I might add - although I still say barrels long enough to touch the targets are cheating a little). You guys know well what you are about.

We also had 2 reauals. I believe Tommy put up our best score of the weekend of 228 although I didn't see Will's target.

My camera wasn't very active but here are the pics I took: https://photos.app.goo.gl/UxwH3gr3udz75Wkn9

Here's a link to the Contact Us page from UNSC - just in case you'd like to drop them a note of appreciation for the use of the range and tell them how much you'd like to come to a Known Distance event at their club  ::) http://www.uppernisquallysportsmanclub.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=browse&id=214362&pageid=21

Hope to see you all on the line again.

Well that was a great Appleseed with perfect weather and efficient shooters. We were ahead of the ball both Saturday and Sunday. Not only that, but our 12 participants were engaged and applied what we taught quiet well. It showed because we ended up with 3 new Rifleman, 2 Requalification's and everyone qualified on the last red coat of the day  ^:)^ ^:)^ way to go!! Although now I owe Kimber dinner because I didn't think we would get 5 Rifleman on Sunday, but Kimber was counting repeats  :slap:... oh well dinner on me. A big thanks to everyone who came out see you all next time.

I had a great time in Eatonville this last weekend. Its always nice to have an event without liquid sunshine, and apparently the time monkey also decided to take a weekend off. That was a great change of pace :) I hope to see each and every one of you at future events. Remember the 6 steps of firing a shot, every time that hammer falls, whether its live or practice. Take the time to get into all those comfy positions you learned and teach your body that its ok ;) . Dry practice, dry practice, dry practice. It will help you reach that elusive 210+, and for those newly forged rifleman, it will help you on your journey to the "distinguished" levels or the ultra rare 250.

I took a bunch of pics, but looking back at most of them I see green tape, so here are the pics I have to share : https://photos.app.goo.gl/89JXnSfHWKhgNLCj8

And for the record Kimber, I shot a 227 on my AQT so you're right, Tommy got me by 1. But, my target isn't lying to me. I see what I did, and know what I need to do to fix it.
