As Saturday dawned grey and mild, the line was full for a Sold-out Two-day Appleseed Rifle Marksmanship Clinic in Annapolis, MD.
With us were return Project Appleseed participants, and many "First-timers" along with an Air-Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (J/ROTC) class from Smyrna, DE. After the introductions & safety brief, we kicked off the event. Saturday was challenging as we were working through many gear issues, but the progress from the Saturday AM Redcoat to the Saturday PM Redcoat was amazing! O0
And, very gratifying to the instructor Cadre, folks were engrossed with the history!
Sunday dawned with all shooters returning for a rain-soaked Appleseed. Gear issues plagues us again, as some rifles didn't like being wet it seemed... however never a complaint from our fantastic shooters! Everyone kept at it.
A Rifleman Persists!
Many earned their Luther Blanchard patches, and Kee T joined the Maryland Rifleman list (with a 230!), and Damien R re-qualified as a Rifleman with a 225. Kee T and Steve W both cleared their Redcoats, Huzzah! Two more recipients of the much-coveted Maryland Front-sight patch.
All the shooters maintained a fantastic attitude, especially considering how challenging the weather was, huge improvements were made, and everybody had a lot of fun! Thank you very much to our host range, the Anne Arundel Fish and Game Association (AAFG) in Annapolis, MD. Check out their website http://www.aafg.org/.
And last but not least, many thanks to my fellow instructors, whose positive attitudes and professional demeanor made this not only a fun, safe, and successful shoot.
