An excellent idea sir!  Thank you for creating this list, and the link.  Information that should have been stickied long ago... "Contact *your* representative here"

Emails sent to the first three on the list- this is what I'm sending 'em.

QuoteI would like to introduce you to the Revolutionary War Veterans Association; a nation-wide 501.c.3 nonprofit organization dedication to reaffirming the traditions and heritage passed on to us by those men and women who had the courage to fight against tyranny.

We do this by holding two day rifle marksmanship classes, at which we instruct the average American how to safely and accurately fire a rifle.  Along with the first-rate instruction, our attendees are immersed in the history of the beginning of our war for independence, and are brought back to April 19th, 1775 - the day Paul Revere made his famous ride, and the colonists at Lexington and Concord fired 'the shot heard 'round the world'.

At our events, we strive to instill a sense of pride in our nation.  We explain that our fore-fathers bought the Liberty that many take for granted at a price of blood and sacrifice beyond imagining, and left us a form of government that would ensure that blood need never be spilled in the name of Liberty again; if we all do our own part.

As citizens of this great nation, it is our duty to communicate our desires and ideals to those whom we have elected.

I would like to extend to you an invitation to attend one of our events, as an honored guest.  I believe that it would bring home the idea that, as citizens, we need to be proactive in ensuring that our representatives know how we feel about the plethora of problems facing our great nation today.

We have many events scheduled already in Florida, and are adding more as time permits.  If you would like, instructors could come to you, and teach at a location of your choosing.  Just say the word, and we'll be there.

A list of locations and dates of our events follows:
Hernando County, FL --January 31 & Feb 1
Myakka, FL--Feb 21& 22
Myakka, FL--March 28 & 29
Hernando County, FL --April 18 & 19
Myakka, FL--April 18 & 19
Hernando County, FL --Oct 3 & 4
Myakka, FL--Oct 24 & 25
Hernando County, FL --Nov 7 & 8
Myakka, FL--Nov 28 & 29
Myakka, FL--Dec 12 & 13

Thank you for your consideration on this matter,

Any comments, suggestions?  Will send more later.

Just this, dedicationed, and we probably shouldn't be instructing average Americans, even if we know the average shoots rather poorly. If the contacted representative is truly a person of the people they'll probably unconsciously feel that you just called THEM average, and I admit he or she likely is, but I'd rework that line just a bit.  ;D ;)

Thanks for that Lava, I'd read, re-read, then re-read again before sending the email... Guess that's what peer-review is all about, right?

Edited, and being sent to the rest of the list.

Remember these are people we want to impress. Be nice to them. We might be able to get some support from them at a critical time in teh future.
And to make things all equal like, make sure that a copy goes to each of the group. we have to non partisan and if it applies to all of them then it's educational and not bribery.

Be firm adn calm. leave no doubt about your devotion to the Appleseed message but DO NOT foam at the mouth.
Dedication is one thing, rabies another 8)

Two affirmative responses so far.

Thats right- TWO STATE REPRESENTATIVES HAVE EXPRESSED A DESIRE TO ATTEND AN APPLESEED EVENT.

They are:

Robert Schenck, Representing District 44, Pasco, Hernando, and Sumter Counties.
Dean Cannon, Representing District 35, Parts of Orange County

Representative Cannon called me earlier today to express interest in attending an event later this year (mentioned October).
Representative Schenck wrote an Email:
QuoteThanks for the email.  I appreciate the invitation.  I would be more then happy to sit in on one of your meetings.  During January and February we will have committee meetings and session starts in May.  I would be more then happy to come to one of the meetings in October.  Let me know.  Take Care.

Rob Schenck

I will be contacting both of them via phone tomorrow, and will try to firm up plans, answer any questions, etc.

Will keep you all updated as events progress.

All Florida State Senators contacted as of 7:00PM.

Could really use some more hands bailing here in Florida, folks..
I know ya'll are out there; I know you believe in our cause, in our country.

We just have to get you off the couch and *working* to save our country.

There is no greater goal in this life, than to ensure the security of those freedoms and liberties that were purchased in blood by the founding generation, so that YOU would never have to shed your own blood for them.

Honor their sacrifice by putting your back to the cart- its a heavy load, and there's plenty of room back here for ya.

Hey there SamD and ITsanSKS,

Man, I'm glad to see you guys working on this one like this. Really doing some solid good stuff for sure. :)

I'm going down for the IBC on Jan 29-30 and will be working the AS on Jan 31-Feb 01 with PHenry/SB.  :~

Really looking forward to it. Just getting all my reservations completed and am going to hit the road to FL from here in TN next Monday (I like to play along the route and get setup at the campground near the site ahead of time).

Really, I thought I'd take a gander and see how things were looking for attendees and you guys caught me totally by surprise. Now,
if these fine people just show up, we'll have some real fun working with them. I'm looking forward to it.   &)
Maybe we can get us a few "bailers" to give us a hand.  @@)   8)

This is a Debt of Honor you'll be working to make a small payment on. How can you turn down the opportunity?

ItsanSKS,
Outstanding job on contacting the reps!

Calling all Floridans!

One might tend to think, owing to his amazing deeds, that ItsanSKS is a "Liberty Super Hero". In fact, he is really just your average American fellow.

He works hard for a living with his hands and puts his pants on one leg at a time, just like you do.

What separates him from the crowd, is the value that he places upon Liberty and what he is willing to do to support "her".

So you see - anyone can be a "Liberty Super Hero". All it takes is a little time and some deeetermination.

Now, you might say "But, I wouldn't know what to do". Well, guess what my fellow Floridians - neither did he. He just got on the forum and got some ideas and started DOING. He made it up as he went along, always working to refine his efforts along the way.

He checked his ego at the door and asked for help.

Now, he enjoys the quiet pride of a real Patriot - a person that the Founders would be proud to call their ancestor.

So how about it - any other real Patriots in Florida ready to step up and do something for Liberty? A little or a lot - it all adds up to our goal of maintaining the ideals of the Founders.

ItsanSKS is our new State Coordinator and he is working hard to become an instructor as well. He is someone to look up to if you care about your country. When was the last time anyone said that about you?  O0
