Title: Inviting politicians
Post by: Quantrill on January 10, 2009, 01:18:21 PM
Has anyone invited state or local reps. to Appleseeds?  The one in April would be perfect, as it would give them a chance to show their patriotism.  What politician would turn down a chance to get a healthy dose of American History and instruction on how to become a rifleman?   O0

I myself have not signed up for April, but I think I may be able to make it out for just Saturday.  If noone has contacted their representatives , I would be happy to send a letter to those whose district I fall in.  I would think the letter would carry more weight if it came from someone in their own jurisdiction.  I will work on a draft today (probably borrowing from the letters others have posted in other threads) and get the 'go-ahead' from people here before I send the letters out.

Any other ideas?

    Q, you don't need anybody's go-ahead - that is strictly optional.

SamD has had some success working on getting pols to AS.

Anyone else who can report some success?

If not, time to get the clown bat out... &)

I'm going to ask my friend Ed Martin if he will come down for the shoot. He's running against Russ Carnahan for US Congress.

Old thread...

Short answer...Yes we do.  I met MO State Rep Munzilnger at one this year

I'm sure Ed Martin would enjoy it.  We have a shoot in DeSoto on Oct 2-3.  Make sure to contact greybeard so they can explain some of the rules about politics and instructors.

See you on the line
