Title: Beaver Falls, PA September 16-17, 2017
Post by: EZ3 on September 17, 2017, 08:17:21 PM
Thanks to the Beaver Valley Rifle and Pistol Club for hosting Project Appleseed for eight years. Thanks to our students who persevered and improved through a sweltering weekend.  Finally, thanks to the instructors who came out to support the event, some of them setting aside other plans to help tend to a full firing line.

The students were attentive and focused, and many improved dramatically throughout the weekend.  As always the AQTs proved to be a grueling test of the marksman, their rifle, and their ammo.  In spite of this three of our fourteen students earned their Rifleman patch: Dale (219, 224, 216), Seth (219, 216) and Tom (211, 217).  Also, Dylan re-qualified (215, 220) and Dale shot the Redcoat target clean (twice) earning the much-coveted Pennsylvania First Rifle Regiment patch.  Congratulations to Team 3 for winning the team shooting event.

Another notable event was a low fly-by by a blue heron who lives in a nearby county park.  He (she?) buzzed our target line during the first AQT after lunch Sunday.  At BVRPC we are always prone to visits from the local wildlife.  Sign up for the Winterseed in December, you might see a polar bear or a reindeer!    ;)

BTW: A Ruger 10/22 magazine was found in the parking lot Sunday afternoon, contact me if you lost one and I'll ship it to you (this offer only applies to those who attended this event Sunday).

Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom was actually filmed at BVRPC.  ;)

Glad I could make the screaming trip in to help.  It is always a pleasure to come to BVRPC.
