Title: AAR Harvard, MA 4/22-23 shoot
Post by: lupis42 on April 25, 2017, 08:56:37 PM
You know it's a traditional Patriots Day shoot at Harvard when the temp is 10 degrees below forecast and the weather is gray and rainy on Saturday morning, but the shooters are still out and ready to go!

The Saturday morning redcoats were already pretty good, but these shooters came to Appleseed to get better, even when that meant listening, learning, and lots of hard work.  Over the course of Saturday they worked pretty hard, refining positions and getting the hang of this NPOA thing, and by Saturday afternoon, the number of riflemen had gone up by 5!
Sunday morning brought warm sunny weather and eager shooters, and we quickly put them to work with a few drills to get the rust off.  This was an exceedingly motivated group, and over the course of Sunday, even as it started to get hot and the trips to and from the target line started to get tiring, the shooters were always on it, always ready for the next drill, the next AQT, the next chance to get better, and again it showed, with a further 5 riflemen by the end of the day, and every single shooter showing marked improvement on their targets over the course of the day.  Even at the end of the day, when the redcoats were shot, the last of the story was told, and the sun getting lower in the sky, there were more shooters eager for one more AQT!

It was a pleasure and an honor to instruct such an excellent bunch, and I hope to see all of our shooters this weekend again.
