Great event. Great Shooters. Great Instructors make the Shoot Boss look good. The Pictures will tell the whole story. [I am having difficulty getting the 40 plus pictures (some already on my FB page) uploaded. Probably this evening]
An OOB discharge from a 10/22? That is supposed to be unpossible. I take it that, other than the magazine, there were no causalities? Stock Ruger or tricked out race gun? Congratulations to our new Riflemen! Good work! May Liberty increase!
A very windy day Saturday but the patriot spirits were undaunted. Here's a few pics from a blustery, yet beautiful Saturday in the company of fine patriots.
More pix (cantankerous upload)
Well in to replying to 9mm4545, I was sighting in My Fajen stocked 10/22 on shot 4 of planned 5, I heard a noise that did not sound correct, when the trigger broke, noticed the Receiver smoking said Whiskey Tango Hotel, Pushed the mag release, nothing happened, then noticed that My mag was in pieces on the mat.
Started going thru the rest of the safe rifle drill, Bolt back and locked, Chamber flag would not go in, Noticed there was a cartridge stuck in the Chamber that the extractor would not take out, Rotted the barrel, the empty popped out. saw a slit in the Rim. Now I knew what had happened.
Rifle off the line disassembled, checked no damage, cleaned chamber and inside receiver . Assembled, back on line, back to Squares nice group. Glenn said no bucking or Flinching seen.
I will post a picture later, I think this was a fluke, as I have used 7 0r 8 Bricks of this same lot ammo with out any problems.
Nice job patriots! And 9mm4545, that outfit is AWESOME!
See you at LS in a few weeks.

Just out of morbid curiosity, what brand was the ammo?
That Aquila Standard Velocity, Super extra ammo, That I bought from CMP a couple of years ago, I bought 2 cases, I think I am working on the second case. Numbers on the end flaps show 105, and 260912104 just in case someone is interested. But like I said earlier this Was the first time this happened to Me.
I hope this was Just a fluke and does not Happen to any one else Ever. Because those Clear 10/22 mags are not cheap!!!!
Wow! - Glad Tom is okay. Congratulations to the two new Riflemen!
I could not be there on Easter Sunday which looks like it had all the excitement!
I'm looking forward to the next Volusia G&HC shoot, when is that? ;)
