Title: Annapolis, MD (AAFG); July 16, 2016; AAR
Post by: WhyWon on July 19, 2016, 01:04:01 AM
It was a hot (peak of 85ºF), humid, and party cloudy 1-day Appleseed here in Annapolis, MD.

We had a full 12 students on the line, plus an Orange Hat (CatGravity) who joined the line.

We had at least four attendees who drove up from Southern MD to attend, including two youth shooters who did very well!

Despite the hot weather,  everyone was quite cool and a pleasure to work with.  We had one repeat Appleseeder who scored rifleman with a top score of 219.

Given it was 1-day event, we moved pretty quickly, and most everyone was on paper after the first squares target.  By the fourth square, most everyone had better than 6 MOA groups. We moved on to the green AQT and picked up the pace. We we able to get three AQTs in before Saturday's end.  All group sizes tightened, closing Red Coats results improved, and AQT scores ranged from roughly 140 to 200.

Many thanks to:
- AAFG for continuing to host us
- Vjornaxx and ERoyle for demoing, doing history, working the line, and continuing to being a relaxed crew
- All Appleseeders, especially for returning all borrowed items and helping to clean and tidy up after the event

Our thoughts & prayers go out to:
- SonOfAVeteran's brother who suffered a stroke and so he wasn't able to join us and instruct.

It was my first 1-day Appleseed as a SBIT.  I've very glad I did a 1-day event as an SBIT because the pacing is very different.  To fit the 3 Strikes, DOM, all the instruction, and make sure it's a safe shoot requires more concentration, less words, and more "quickly quickly".

Thanks to everyone who attended & we hope to see you again soon!
