A great group of people came together for the Appleseed in Piqua. We had 22 shooters starting out on Saturday morning's redcoat. The weather was unusually warm with relatively calm winds. By Saturday afternoon temperatures hovered near ninety degrees making both rifles and shooting mats uncomfortable to the touch, but the shooters hung in there and made the best of things while honing their marksmanship skills.
Saturday's hard work paid off; with all 19 of the shooters present on Sunday morning putting all three rounds into the 100 yard Red Coat, HUZZAH!. Sunday afternoon was even hotter than the day before, sometimes making it difficult for shooters to hold their rifle stock. But like true riflemen they adapter and overcame the obstacles, with John reconfirming his rifleman status by shooting a 225 score, and Brent received his Rifleman's patch with a 216 score, congratulations to both of you.
We are very pleased to receive Chad into our instructor's team, he accepted his orange hat on Sunday and immediately went to work helping on the line; thank you Chad.
Also thanks to The Buckeye Trapper and Coyote 217 for their usual fine job.
